I recently found a few Pokemon cards in a storage unit I bought, knowing very little about them I decided to try and sell them. The people here were very helpful and brought to my attention that some of them were fake and showed me how to spot the fakes. All and all I got a fair price and learned some new details for the future. I highly appreciate the help and recommend anyone interested in this stuff give them a try

Good selection of video games (used), TTRPGs and supplies, and open space/tables for groups to play. They seem to be actively improving things like store layout and their stock. I don't live particularly close so I only have been in a few times over about a year, but if you're in the neighborhood you should check them out. A good place to support.

Me and my girlfriend went into the store as I was excited about finding a local game store to possibly play in. First experience walking in was that it was well kept and plenty of space! Sadly no one talked to us for the 30ish minutes we spent looking around the store. Even when we stood at the counter expressing interest in seeing stuff behind the counter the employees would just walk past us as if we weren't even there. We finally gave up and ended up leaving.

Retro Shark is a neat little corner store with plenty of space to play and decent selection of board games to choose from. From the name, they sell a lot of retro games ranging from NES to PS3/Xbox360(and beyond?) games. I've been to the location a few times and have enjoyed the staffs interactions very much. They are nice, welcoming, and willing to chat about the store/their hobbies but also straight to the point when asking about prices (such as TCG Pokemon/Magic). Perfect! I've recently been visiting to play some tabletop war gaming with friends and although they don't have a large selection of shelf product for it, they have plenty of play space for us. Several tables worth!

This place is fantastic and has a little of everything. Retro video games, board games, D&D supplies, collectible cards and even DVDs. They have a great table area for game play and host several events. This is always a must stop when my family is in town.

First off they are incredibly rude to my wife. They always seem nice to me but anytime my wife has gone in or talked they treat her like she is stupid. Second they don't offer actual legitimate offers on trades. We brought in $1300 worth of Pops and they offered us a whole $400 which is laughable. They want to pay as little as possible but then sell their pops with no concern for damage and as expensive as they can get. AVOID THIS STORE!!!!!

This is a well managed, clean, reasonably priced, and easy to navigate store. They have a wide selection of merchandise for collectors, children, and gamers alike. The staff is as knowledgeable as they are friendly. This is, without a doubt, my new go-to shop for anything card / board / video gaming.

The person that helped me out was knowledgeable. I didn't know what to get my son and he presented me the best option .My Son was happy and he didn't try to sell me the expensive stuff .. I did buy a faulty game but he made it right with no issues and just Incase it didn't work out he had a back up plan. . Thanks !!

These guys prices of new release Pokémon TCG products is ridiculously overpriced. Absolutely INSANE. Went in to buy the Crown Zenith mini tins that MSRP is $8.99 each and they are trying to sell them for $14 each!!! GTFO! DONT BUY POKÉMON PRODUCTS FROM THIS STORE unless you want to get ripped off with a heavily marked up price from the MSRP. This is the case with all their Pokémon products and singles. They are way more expensive here. There are plenty of other Pokémon TCG shops in the area that offer closer to MSRP prices, so don't get ripped off buying them here. I'll change my mind and shop here when they decide to offer prices closer to MSRP. Also all the TCG single cards have no price on them, you have to ask for each one. When I ask why they weren't priced I was told that it is because the prices are changing and they have to look them up. No DUH!!! That's called the TCG market. Other shops have no problem marking prices on they singles weekly or bi weekly. It's just lazy store tending not to. I've been in this store 5 times since it opened, hoping for it to get better but I've been disappointed every time. Other Near buy TCG shops: "Sweet Spot Sports & Gaming" "The Showroom 503""The Gresham Toy Shop""Hidden Treasure Gaming" -Troutdale"Discs & Dice" -Troutdale

Not what it used to beOld time video game lover here... buuut nowadays this store is more like a tabletop/TCG haven with "retro" on the side.. contrary to their name ? ... nearly 2/3 of the store is dedicated to this genre in brand-new condition. Back when it was in gresham town fair this store really felt like a cozy hole-in-the-wall with hidden gems, but now it feels like just another goin' gamin, gambit's or small scale guardian games (we already have plenty of stores like this in the area). The retro video game sections feel neglected and for what there is the prices are steep. I checked the facebook and theposts are pictures of printouts and whiteboards , when they actually used to update the new games and items they got in stock like most other retro stores... hard to tell if they really care about building a community or know what their store should be. Just look to the other recent reviews if you want to know about that. Not meaning 2 be salty just sad to see it go this way, and miss being able to find retro gaming closer to Gresham instead of just popping in to the closest goodwill and hoping for the best. If you want a stereotypical "game store" experience this place is fine, but if you're looking for what this store used to be, and like Retro Gaming, you'd better off wait for the Portland gaming convention, or go farther into PDX for HGX or doublejump.

Bought a copy of Super Smash Bros Brawl for the specialty price of $29.99 (about $10-$5 more than online) a couple of months ago; back when they were still at the Gresham Town Fair location. Didn't look too much at the game when I was at the store given I was with friends and didn't want to take up their precious time. Later, upon playing it, it would stop reading the disc about three minutes into the game.I popped the disc out to see why and upon further inspection the disc itself was slightly bent and almost looks like it has disc rot.Not to mention that the cover in the case is not even the original; it's just a shoddy reprint and not even a good one. They kept the disc in a drawer behind the counter in a sleeve probably to prevent theft but because of this I had no idea as to the condition of the disc.I live far out and don't go drive to Gresham very often so the option to drive all the way back to return the game didn't seem all that appealing especially with the gas prices at the time; they do have a 1 or 2 week return period so that's cool I guess even though I didn't use it.
