Fantastic fun for families and friends. Gorgeous scenery. Reminds me of wolf creek canyon in Montana!

Enjoyed the trip. We did the dinner trip and were happy we did. checkin was a but sucky, but the boat ride was good and the dinner very nice. My biggest regret was that I let my travel companions talk me out of bringing my windbreaker. I got soaked on the return trip...not just a bit wet from the spray. I had to empty out my wallet and let it dry overnight. I've taken this trip and Jerry's at the mouth of the rogue in Gold Beach. If I had pick only one, I'd take Jerry's because the scenery was better. That certainly isn't the fault of the operator. Hellgate's food was better.

This is a exciting experience if you're ever in south Oregon, I had a lot of fun on the ride. The pilot, Austin, was great his jokes made the ride enjoyable aswell. The gift shop had many stuff and was kept very clean as so the boat. Overall the boat ride was very fun and I would definitely do it again.

I am visiting family and wanted to surprise them with a river trip while I was here. The store is very cute, such nice little gifts for all occasions along with souvenirs of all kinds. Most of the staff was so kind and helpful. The young girls behind the counter took their time to explain my options and delighted my many, many questions with a positive attitude which is a nice change from most places these days. I however left without making my reservation and I will not be returning. I refuse to support a a business that berates their staff, especially in front of a guest. While I was getting information from the young girls behind the counter, a woman stomped down from what I believe was upstairs and yelled at these girls, using profanity in front of me. She completely interrupted my time and I was shocked at the language that came from her mouth. "Answer the GOD DAMNED PHONE!!" she said and she stormed off upstairs. I never heard a phone ring and by the looks on these young girls faces neither did they. It was rude and completely unprofessional and uncalled for. Local or not, I choose to not support a business that treats their staff so poorly.

I have never taken this trip before but believe me I will make a part of my yearly visit to Oregon. Our boat driver Bo was amazing: where do I start? Very knowledgeable about the river, friendly and made the trip entertaining. You have to do this tour, the Rogue River is beautiful and makes you appreciate the natural wonders of Oregon. Thank you for the memories!

Bo was an incredible Instructor/Host on the boat. He really made the atmosphere of this experience fun, and my family enjoyed the stories he told the crew during the excursion. Alexsis was our host at the dinner. She was awesome. First, she asked if anyone had dietary restrictions or allergies and kept the food coming with a great attitude. Shout out Bo and Alexsis

we were scheduled to go July 6 on this tour and I didn't buy refundable tickets which is partly my fault but when you come down with Covid, there's nothing you can do about it and you have to cancel and they would not refund me. Poor customer service.

I can't believe how this has gone down hill.....This in years gone by was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon. The boat ride was fine, the problem was at the restaurant......!st be aware you are NOT allowed to set where you want to be........If all of your party's ticket are not purchased together...YOU will not set together for dinner. We were late landing at site & were given just a small amount of time to eat......very limited servers,we had no silverware,1 bowl of salad for all the people, short on apps.very poor dry meat...overall HUGE disappointment about spending fathers day....never again

Jetboat ride was awesome! Our guide was Craig and he was great! Fun to see the beautiful Rogue River with some of the wildlife. (Constructive criticism to the staff ... lots of elderly folks who struggled getting in and out of the boat. It would be so nice to see a staff offer assistance vs. only watching them struggle.). Anyway, we did the Brunch excursion. And that is where the rating drops. We were a party of two and were put at the end of a table. We were not asked if we wanted anything other than water or orange juice to drink (and got that only because it was on the table when we arrived.). Felt extremely ignored by our server. The food was served without serving utensils which is kind of gross and it was luke warm. Potatoes were overcooked to the point you could not slice them with your fork. Lots of ketchup drowned the overdone taste. By the time the small serving dishes of eggs arrived to us the eggs were almost gone. So we felt like we were left with the scraps. Throughout our meal the table was crammed full of empty serving plates, glasses and fruit boards. Really hated the set up. A Buffett would have been so much more practical allowing us to sit at the countless vacant tables vs being squeezed in amongst best large groups. If you take the meal out of the equation, the experience would get 4-1/2 to 5 stars.

We just got back from a 4 hour excursion with dinner June 22, 2023. Our guide who came from Florida, Booker I think his name is, was absolutely great. He had exciting stories and choose ALLOF US in the boat to play along with his humor. He made us feel like family. He was an excellent driver of the boat and spun it around A Lot!!! We all welcomed getting wet and he even paid attention to keeping us safe. All the boat drivers this evening took the time to stop at wildlife so we could take pictures and when they saw people fishing, they would immediately slow way down. They always took in consideration for what was happening around them be it wildlife, fisherman, or kids standing close to the waters edge and when other boats were in the area and would stop or go very slow by them. We all appreciated their kind hearts to do that. We all are going to take another excursion and we are requesting BOOKER or BROOKER, anyway, the guy from Florida! Yes, he's our man and made it a very fun adventure and that is him behind us in one of the pictures we attached!!! We had been told there were bees around the dinner food but tonight, we did not see a one. The food was great and we had a lot of time to walk around the beautiful grounds. We would advise this trip to anyone considering to spend the money to go........it is well worth it and you will came back so relaxed and so full of joy!

If I could go lower I would... these guys fly up and down the river and have no regard for wildlife or public presence. I have lived here in grants pass for years and I'm fed up with it. You guys don't slow down for people in the water fishing.. you don't slow down for small boats or anyone!! I was fly fishing this morning and you guys about knocked me off my feet. Came within 15 feet of me and many people on board saw the whole thing. I was waist deep in water enjoying the beauty the rogue has to offer when your loud boats come flying on by almost sweeping me off my feet. Called to complain got nothing in response..

Not out 1st Hellgate Jetboat Excursion trip, but might be our last for a special event. Pro Tip: Since the boat ride is the major attraction, avoid the meal options so you're not disappointed by the low level quality of food and simple service. I know their staff work super hard, but they're missing on the organization and timing of seating and serving. Decided to take our Moms to Mother's Day brunch since it's been a few years from our last Hellgate trip. We quickly noticed the online waiver system was clunky and lacked the basic necessity of user friendliness. Quick tip to the HJE tech team: embrace an app like open table or similar to streamline and simplify things. The ride was solid. Guide was helpful, knowledgeable and fun. We were able to see a handful of bald eagles along the way, which is always awesome. Upon docking at the restaurant we were given roughly 1 hr 15 mins to dine and instructed to be back at the boat by 12:30 to head out. Short walk up the big hill to the restaurant, we are pleasantly greeted by the hostess who can't find our reservation, nor names. They scramble to accommodate and set up a table for our group of 8 (3 moms, 1 of which is her 1st HJE trip). Other groups that were sat near us seemed to have experienced the same FUBAR in reservation errors. Food was slow to come out. Biscuits and gravy were cold by the time the potatoes arrived which were cold by the time the bacon and sausage arrived. We finally had all the meal in front of us a mere 25 mins before our departure. Meanwhile a table across from us had everything at once while another table next to us was lacking like ours was. I get that it's the 1st major service of the year for them, but working out the kinks on Mother's Day is not a great plan... not for setting your staff up for success nor for repeat business based on the experience. Had we avoided the meal service entirely this would've been a near flawless trip (barring the online waiver, QR codes, etc).

Ian absolutely loved this jetboat excursion. This was the highlight of his Oregon road trip. -Park at the Hellgate lot. -Check-in inside Hellgate. -There are clear instructions on where to walk to. -Line up at the loading area. Boarding begins promptly at your scheduled slot. If possible try to score a seat at the side of the boat. It greatly increases your chances of getting wet!! What to expect: -Breathtaking scenery. -Gorgeous estates/mansions along the river. -Lots of Flora, Fauna & GP history/education. -Great story telling by the captain. Donnie was hilarious! -Adventurous boat ride. Thrilling to say the least. Expect to get wet!! -Dinner is served at the River Lodge. Brisket was A M A Z I N G!!! Roasted vegetables made me think I was eating healthy. *Laughs* Churro was a nice touch. Drinks were strong! Hellgate River Cruise is a MUST do if you are visiting Southern Oregon. Great adventure for families!
