Found this place on the way back from robert’s book store in Lincoln city and found myself finding stuff that I had not seen in years. If you ever go this way going to Lincoln city or coming from Lincoln city this place is a goldmine for vintage books. Make sure to bring cash.

Books galore! Rows and rows of all kinds of books. Old books, rare books, school books, fiction and non-fiction, almost any subject you could ask for. Mixed in are some miscellaneous items, such as shoes and hardware. Friendly staff. If you’ve ever driven by and wondered if you should stop and check it out, go ahead and do it. You won’t regret it.

Very interesting "book" store. Not just used books (lots of them, in all sorts of topics. Hugh selection of Harliquen romances). We got gifts for the grand children.

This is the kind of review I love to do!!! I wandered into this place off the highway yesterday. I had driven by it hundreds of times and kept telling myself I needed to go in when I had read an article saying that this might be closing down soon along with the bonanza antique store up the street. Perfect example of not doing things when you should as I drove home I considered going into the bonanza but now the bonanza was closed. Jim's trading post was a little further down and I realize this was the time to go either go now or this place might be close too. I was so glad that I made my way in, it's like a catacomb of old bookshelves, rows after rows of them. I spoke to the owner who told me his father had started the store in 1958 and it was really well-known for all the books but also there were a lot of fan zine magazines and old magazines in saran wrap as well as musical instruments and at one time he said he had a little music store inside of Jim's trading post. Another thing I noticed right away and the owner told me was that his father had stocked up on lots of dead stock items, in other words he had bought things from a long time ago that were brand new and kept them in their original packages and offered them for sale in his store. So there are literally things there from the 60s and 70s that are in their original packages for sale. For me this was paradise because my entire home is vintage, all of my clothing are vintage the only thing I don't have vintage is my car because you need a reliable car. I was captivated in here and could not leave, nature was calling but I stayed to continue perusing all the amazing shelves of items. I luckily found this beautiful navy blue zipper in the back nylon 1970s ladies top and I also bought a really cool hat. I wanted to get more!! You just can't find the stuff trust me and not for that price, $8. before I left. The owner, whose name I'm not going to mention because I'm not sure if he wants me to publicize that here told me a lot of stories about the past with the store and how his father had started the store, how his family had been involved and how he's really taking a lot of interest in keeping it going. I made a comment to him that I would like to steal the carpets and put them in my bedroom. If I could clean them of course. That's one thing I don't know how to find is vintage carpet. But the color of vintage carpet is so amazing it's like a sensory overload so I took some pictures of it here because I could not get over the carpet. But honestly this place is chock-full of stuff wall-to-wall, clothing, tools, old gardening tools, old brass watering cans and brass containers, guitars, cool keychains and all types of items. Look at my pictures and you will see what I mean. I can't wait to return but like I told the owner next time I will make sure to use the restroom first and make sure there are no perishable food items in my car because this is the type of place you need to have a lot of time for. My goal next time is to really look through the book section because they had some pretty amazing categories of books and I am pretty sure I can find some great books next time. Can't wait to make it back again. I have realized that when we see truly unique places or businesses we need to experience them before they may be gone. Don't miss out on Jim's trading post it's really worth it.
