“My first visit and it’s adorable! My room was clean and had everything I needed for my stay with my puppy. I loved that I was at the end of one side of rooms near the patio deck and grass. My puppy is good but not perfect. We had to go out a lot before bed since he is a little crazy at night and takes a lot of time to settle down. I thought the dog dishes were a nice touch and that the room being fresh and clean, was also comfortable for my dog. Everyone was nice and the service is good. Loved breakfast at my door each morning. If I had to pick one thing that could be improved as a former innkeeper, it would be that if given the opportunity to check-in and out on-line, it should be seamless. I was unable to check-in before my stay and I’ve been working on using the check-out on-line option since last night and the site won’t allow it because I didn’t leave a list of amenities I did not use? Maybe it’s me but it doesn’t have to be this hard to do this from my room bed on my phone :)!! I will definitely be back because of the location, the room, the service and it’s all quite adorable.Rooms: Comfy and old but in a good way. Sweet leftover cottage feel from a long time ago. Just enough comfort for today.”

“We always have a great time getting away from everything to recharge in Gearhart. The McMenamins Sand Trap is a great place to stay with family and friends. It's a lot less commercial than other parts of the Oregon Coast and a lot more mellow. McMenamins always finds a way to make their hotels charming, memorable and fun.”

“Our room was facing the street and vehicle noise was enough to disturb our sleep. The shower was small and difficult to use. Our room size and queen was comfortable including two large chairs with ottomans and an in room fireplace. Staff was very helpful. Loved the lemon water and coffee in the lobby. Parking was tight. Proximity to beach and haystack rock was very good. Less than a block to beach. Convenient amenities and food”

“We stayed in a family themed room. Our kids loved the paintings and bunk beds. We loved how close it was to the beach! Our daughter smoked out the room with microwavable Mac n cheese that she forgot to put water in, and the staff immediately switched our room and were so understanding. We will be back. Thank you for the stay!”

“We had a power outage here and they gave us flash lights more blankets, and extra food. More than accommodating. They were concerned with our safety and specially Angela at the front desk. Given the situation all the people freaking out (me included) she handled us all with so much patience. Great stay horrible weather !!”

“It was an easy walk from the cottage to the beach. That was great for me since I have back issues. Also, the cottage was cozy, and the fireplace really warmed the place up. The housekeeping staff was very friendly and helpful.”

“So partner decided on a whim to take a vacation to the beach. It had been a long time, almost ten years since we had had a break. I made the reservation for one night at the Beachside Inn cause we are super poor. We packed our stuff and the babies toys and drive out to the coast. We got into the room and decided to say screw it and get a secnd night. Place was wonderful. Yeah clearly given our curcumstances we have low expectations but the room we got was spacious comfortable had a full kitchen (the only knocks were the gas stove which neither of us are used to and found the smell unpleasent, and the jets in the tub did not work), an absolutely stuffed matress on the bed which i just sank into, and a nice big bath (we only have a shower at home) which was just so relaxing. Then there was the living room. We had so much space for the baby to explore now that she can well more squirm than properly crawl but she had a blast. Kinda feel sorry for these people leaving bad reviews of the place. It is wonderful and we are already trying to raise funds to go back for my birthday in october Update: did go back. Tub jets worked this time. My review stands though I regret there aren't any more stars to add.”

“Great cheap hotel, which is pet friendly. Good location in Seaside. Close to take-aways and stores. Friendly staff at the reception. The room was quite large and bright. There were chairs and tables in the room, which is a nice option. Some cheap hotels don't offer that and you're forced to lay on the bed. The TV was on the small side, but worked fine. Overall, good value for the money.”

“I stayed on the second floor of this hotel for a one night stay. Rooms are nice, beds comfy. No AC so can get pretty hot at night. Our room was right by a staircase so would get fairly noisy especially with smokers at all hours of the night. Lobby staff was pleasant.”
