One of my favorite markets in the Eugene area. Very hippie style with delicious healthy food at a decent price and friendly people. Also some great hard to find beers and spirits

One of my favorite places to shop! This beautiful natural grocery store is one of Eugene's special gems. It has bulk good and teas, specialty health foods that can be hard to find elsewhere, tinctures and supplements, alternative magazines, a wine and beer collection, deli, *phenomenal* organic produce section and salad bar. The staff have also always been super friendly and helpful.I highly recommend this special store to anyone who loves that natural, cozy, semi-old school hippie vibe.

I lived in Eugene several times over more than 20 years and last in 2015. Sundance has to be the coolest natural food store I have ever been in. I love the folks who work here and the vibe. I do believe it is all vegetarian with heaps of vegan options. They have local produce and feel it is all organic. A wide variety of mushrooms and a great bulk section. The hot and cold bar are both phenomenal. My biggest grip is that when I lived here prior in years past the sandwiches were much better. I used to love the TLT aka tempeh lettuce tomato and reuben. Fast forward to the Summer of 2023 I ordered a pesto chick-unsandwich. I found it underwhelming. It was very dry and wasn't fresh. For $8.95 USD could have been much better. I also tried the Tempeh for another meal as I packed both for later. The Tempeh Reuben was only slightly better than the other sandwich. Both sandwiches were underwhelming and it is too bad they weren't as good as when I was last here. Pro tip: Go with the amazing salad bar and hot bar. Be sure to check the dates aka when the sandwich was made and best by date. Kiva aka natural food store downtown has sandwiches made to order. 4 stars for a one star reduction to the underwhelming sandwiches rounded up to 5 stars because Sundance is still one of my favorite natural food stores on Momma Earth for the friendly staff, folks who shop here, awesome store, and amazing salad bar and hot bar.

I don’t think I’ve ever had a worse experience at a grocery store. We walked in and it was busy which should be a good sign. But at the very onset we were huffed at by every employee like we were in there way. The isles are very narrow and I understand that since you have packed a lot into the space you have available. But to be huffed at and be rude for trying to look at anything is unacceptable. Furthermore when we went to check out the cashier not only spent 5 mins having a conversation with the gentleman in line in front of us as we waited but there were more than us waiting to check out. Once we finally made it to her she was beyond rude didn’t say hello threw out grocery’s and made rude faces at every single item. Like we had interrupted a conversation and how dare we have the audacity to say hello smile and pay for something. Then when we went to leave after she rudely told us to take our card out she threw the receipt at us and then as we walked out just yelled “there’s more buttons” over and over until we signed the receipt, which is fine but how rude can one person be? Everyone just goto Capella’s market, they’re friendly and have reasonable isles. Avoid this place like the plague.

Amazing. Google maps didn't show me this, I literally stumbled upon it on my way to the corner store hoping somehow it'd have vegan food. This was on the way and it's like vegan chocolate heaven. $0.99 truffles of all flavors. Pre made fancy vegan sandwiches and cakes made in house, as well as vegan cookies (even some wheat free brownies ) and those cold premade foods are also covered by EBT. Everyone there has been friendly to me, the only thing I could say was less than amazing was the cheesecake they made. The cheesecake itself was good but i couldn't really taste the blueberries at all, I think maybe they've gone overripe, but who knows maybe my tastes aren't sensitive enough. Regardless, everything else has been awesome- the house made brownie, Neptune sandwich, pesto Chickn sandwich, and probably more I haven't tried yet. They even have picnic tables to eat it at. 10/10 stop in. They've also got non food items I haven't paid much attention to, it's at the back, I think it's supplements.

When I visited Eugene on vacation from Charleston, SC, I expected to eat at a number of notable vegetarian establishments. BUT, after I visited Sundance for the first time, I was hooked. Everything I ate for the next week came from this wonderful store. Many natural food stores (I won't name the most obvious) should be called "ultra-processed stores." They are as unhealthy as any standard grocery in this country. Sundance had an unbelievably wide variety of WHOLE food offerings, often sourced from local providers. I can't thank Gavin (the owner) and his staff enough for providing such a remarkable source of healthy, whole, and delicious foods (their Black Bean Patties, made in-house, are the best I've ever tasted). It makes me want to move to Eugene!

Stopped for a quick dinner while passing through town and were delighted to find an EXCELLENT prepared salad bar as well as a couple of flavorful hot curries ready to go. So good and such diverse flavors we went back and got more for the next days drive. Wish we'd been sooner, we do the drive up and down 5 every year, but never stopped to get food here. Will be a definite favorite here on.

Plenty of raw coconut and raw nut-based desserts to pick from. Quality cheeses and ripe seasonal fruit. Friendly staff members. Convenient store hours.

Meh. So expensive! 7 dollars for 16 ounce soup is ridiculous when I can get the same from the cafe next door for 5 dollars that's prepared by a chef and comes with fresh baked sourdough... also there's just so few options for anything frozen like ice cream and no good snacks. One crappy brand of popcorn and 2 brands of ice cream. They wait until produce is practically rotten to put it on the half off shelf. On the upside the supplement folks are extremely knowledgeable and usually friendly about questions.

Best grocery store I’ve ever been to by a long shot. Produce is off the charts and consistent. Bulk selection is amazing. Prices are lower than even chain groceries typically. And best self serve coffee in town to boot.. I’ll seriously miss this place if I ever leave Eugene.

When you have that moment, take in the history of a promised land. The website mentions some of the highlights related to good intentions and history (ahimsa, since 1971) but I encourage breathing in this world’s warmth first hand. Unending love and care pours from the place.Given: ridiculously beautiful local produce, vegan prepared foods throughout the day, a real salad bar, kitchen made juices and cookies, thoughtful personal care products, herbs, curatives, bulk everything for everyone (tea, miso, oils, laundry detergent, soaps, granola, lentils, barley)……and, the people.Sundance glows at a constant rate and intensity thanks to wisdom, experience, product knowledge, community focus, sincere accessibility and true 21st century meaning. Just feel it and find exactly what you need at the same time.I had the honor of being on staff for a short while and will never have enough.Special with a capital “S.”Eugene knows exactly what’s up.
