Told me to leave my bag outside with all my valuables. Asked if I could leave it behind the counter and they refused.

St. Vinnies has a huge problem with crime and theft in and around their stores. To deal with the problem, the organization hires employees who are supposed to double as ad hoc security in case of any of a myriad of unforeseen problems they may have. The way this is done creates many problems. To put it bluntly, they profile their customers. Meanwhile, all the crime continues on unabated. If you visit this store, which I used to be a customer of for around 20 years, do yourself a favor, and pay attention to your surroundings. Ask yourself if you think you are in a safe environment. Maybe that day, there's nothing sketchy going on, but in the many many years I was a customer at their stores, I saw quite a few occurrences that really shouldn't have been allowed to happen. Meanwhile they rag on some of their most loyal customers and try to passively aggressively drive them out of their stores. Without a specific negative behavior, they won't throw you out of the store, but they will make you feel very very uncomfortable to be there if they have your number. Keep your head on a swivel if you visit this store!

St Vinnies helps a lot of folks. That said, they treat their workers badly: low wages, long hours, few benefits, grueling work, and dealing with homeless and angry customers. The company should share its profits with the workers, close on holidays so folks can be with family, and pay a living wage. One good result from the pandemic was it at least they close at 6 PM instead of at 9 PM like they used to. But they still have a high turnover of staff because of the terrible working conditions.

I like this St.Vinnies because they always have a good selection of random stuff. Never had any issues with any employees there & everyones usually quick to help with locked cabinet access and what not. I would say the single file line donation drop off can be a little ridiculous.Depending on what employee you get, if you even remotely think about walking up with a bag of ready to go stuff and the person 1st in line is taking 10 years to get one box out the back of their car, the employee will genuinely yell at you and tell you to wait your turn. I get being courteous but it's silly I can't just walk up and sit something on the ground by the door if I don't want a receipt or coupon and the guy in front of me is unloading a yacht

Quite a bit better selection than the Goodwill just down the way. Not as aesthetically pleasing, but definitely more selection. Very helpful people.

Lots of merchandise in a large store. Plenty of parking. Great place to find furniture. Extensive movie and book collections. We were looking for clothes, preschooller/toddler books, puzzles, and games. I found many.

Blonde white checker could not stop herself from asking me prying personal questions about my ethnicity and religion after I put down a book from the religion section that wasn't catholic. Will not be returning.

Went in with my partner & a friend, who are Mexican -- I am white. Multiple people were in the store, but I bet you can guess who the staff decided to follow closely. St. Vinny's prices have been rising in absurdity for donated items, and to racially profile people who ended up making purchases is abhorrent. Will certainly be the last purchases made at aSt. Vinny's.

The prices here are so outrageous, that you’re frankly better off buying something new in a lot of cases(largely regarding furniture) but in general other thrift stores have way better deals across the board. The prices are upsetting when most go thrifting looking for a deal and to be more sustainable. Every time I have gone and think “maybe the prices will be better this time” they are still outrageous and I leave angry. There’s no excuse in my eyes for a thrift store to be charging $350 for a dresser that is scratched up and has a chunk missing out of a corner and was donated for free.. I mean that’s just embarrassing. I’ve seen them mention to previous reviews that not everything is donated, but no one is going to a thrift store to look for furniture wanting to pay anywhere above $100 let’s be real now, come on.. It’s ridiculous. Some of the prices are outrageous even IF the item was brand new.. If you have several hundred dollars to spend on something you could get a way better deal on else where, enjoy your shopping experience here!

I STRONGLY suggest not buying electronics here. Nice book and movie selection though

Their prices have become outrageously higher than they should be for what they offer, particularly considering everything is donated. Still, their staff is great and there is still an expansive and impressive book selection.

Extremely disappointed in the outrageous amount SVDP is selling furniture, clothes, shoes… well, basically everything now. This used to be a place where families could buy used furniture at an affordable price. The stuff they are selling is donated, given to SVDP for free, to sell at a price that community members can afford. Instead this organization has chosen to sell stuff at such an unreasonably high amount that those who cannot afford to buy new, now cannot afford to buy used either. For just a tad bit more (if not the same price) you might as well buy new…. at least the item won’t be beat up for the price. I saw a vase from with a Ross price tag for $8.99 and SVDP was selling for $7.99 and it has a chip in it. Just ridiculous. I also walked my donations to the drive up area and was told I have to drive up, I cannot donate unless I drive up and get in line behind the rest of the car. WTH?!? I was also overcharged. A $14.99 item that was supposed to be 50% off and I was given only 10% off. I won’t be donating to SVDP ever again and unfortunately will stop buying from here too.

aj went above and beyond to help us today with furniture! he pointed out new options we hadn't seen, and we both ended up leaving with furniture (even though i wasn't even going in to get anything for myself). im a manager at a retail store and this is exactly the kind of attitude i look for !!!! i hope he is treasured and appreciated as much as we appreciated him today
