Scheduling is ridiculous. They don't call you back. When you call them they put you on hold or transfer you to nowhere and are rude on top of it. Some people really make that buisness look bad

SOME of the providers are nice people. They are absolutely incapable of keeping appointments though. Twice now I've gotten calls, on the morning of my appointment, to reschedule. The check in system is asinine and some of the folks in reception sure seem like they don't want to be there. The surgeon made me feel like I was wasting her time. The physical therapists and medical assistants are the only bright spot here and the only reason I'm giving them anything more than a mediocre review at best. Shoutout to Paul! He's an amazing person and the only reason I'm still using this provider.

Dr Mildren is an excellent surgeon. I had an Arthroscopy this morning and have had previous surgeries at Slocum. The nurses are all very kind and gentle. My surgeries were completed without complication. I will eventually need a total knee replacement and have complete confidence in Dr Mildren’s surgery skills.

Doctor MIchael Koester was great, Whoever answered the phone in the MRI department at 9 ish am this morning obviously hates her job and should not be working with patients with the attitude she has. Almost decided to see a different Orthopedic doctor in Medford just for the MRI because of how rude, defensive, and aggressive she is. I remember the 1st time I ever got a MRI from here my mom complained to someone about how rude the lady is in the MRI department, since she basically screamed at my mom. The person she complained to said that they always are rude to patients. I’m not sure if it’s the same person but the attitude definitely matched.

I continue to be treated extremely well by the staff at Slocum, most importantly, Dr Shah.He has replaced my right knee, continues his care of my left knee with diagnosis and treatment (cortisone)Additionally, I have had successfully completed rehabilitation/PT after cervical fusion.Highly recommended, professionally managed establishment. My wife has also had two successful bunion surgeries with Dr Jackson.

Never accept any type of brace from there. They charged us $787 for a brace we did not know we can get online for $60. I hate that they manipulate your trust, just for their capitalistic greed. As if we aren't all struggling enough with medical bills. No price tag, no awareness, no returns. It's garbage in a few weeks, when you no longer need it. Disgraceful. Shame on you Slocum! Medical surgery shouldn't have to deteriorate your mental health. Errg!!!

I would recommend this place to ANYONE! They are absolutely amazing!! My wife needed surgery on her arm, so we came from out of town. Dr. Sheerin and his Assistant Stephanie were absolutely incredible. There are no other words to describe how wonderful they are. We are so thankful for you both and the rest of the medical team there.

I just walked out of an appointment I waited 2 months for with Brick Lantz. He was rude and condescending. I don’t allow other people to speak to me that way. You shouldn’t either. I strongly encourage you to seek care elsewhere.

After a catastrophic accident and four hip replacement / revision surgeries in seven months between 12/21-7/22, it seems I’m considered a difficult patient. Evidently my situation is too much for the surgeons here to handle, so I need to go elsewhere. Since October 2023, it has been impossible to communicate with my surgeon Mark Mildren, his assistant Lacy, and the referral supervisor Brittany. It took months to get an appointment, when I finally had a face to face with my surgeon, he made big promises to help me and didn’t follow through. I made six follow up phone calls, was told three times my referrals would be done by end of business, left three voice messages for Brittany and someone (a triage nurse covering phones) sent an email to Brittany on my behalf to ask for her help, but she never called me back. Lacy made one call to let me know referral would be done that day and wasn’t done till a week later. It’s unbelievable. When I was disabled and lost my job, I lost my good insurance. Now on OHP, it seems I’ve been dismissed. If you’re a “check all the boxes” patient, these surgeons are great. They’ll fix you up and send you on your way. As a complex patient when nobody knows what to do next, you’ll be on your own.I’m giving two stars for Lisa, the one person on the phone tree whose compassion and indignation about my situation carried over every time she answered my call. Thank you Lisa.

Not so sure going here was a good idea I should have gone to the orthopedics in Medford instead. So far I think my surgeon was good I hope but everything else was a joke. After my surgery was over I was sent home and shortly after I got there I started having severe breathing problems where I can only take a half of a breath. I was starting to feel like I was suffocating. I called the number for urgent concerns and was told that maybe I should go to the ER. After being in the ER all night I was told I had a collapsed lung. Luckily after a couple days and breathing exercises it corrected it's self. I called Slocum to let them know what happened and they didn't seem to want to be bothered with it. Apparently a collapsed lung is not that big of a deal and was told it was unlikely it was from anything involving my surgery. I thought that to be strange being that I'm a pretty healthy guy. Fast forward a couple of weeks and my splint is completely falling apart and is totally useless. So again I called that number to get some info on what I should do about this and the on call doctor was unable to give me any advice on what I should do. She seemed completely lost (incompetent). I am so hoping that my surgeon did a good job because so far nobody else there had. Honestly I'm pretty worried and I'm in way more pain than I was with the initial injury. Based on my expenses so far I absolutely would not recommend this place to anybody.

I got sent to this company for a referral. I feel like the doctor I seen for my foot treated me like I was wasting her time. She made me feel like I was an inconvenience to her. She mostly disagreed with what I was told. She was really aggressive with my foot. She did agree my tendon is spilt, but treated and talked to me very poorly. I wouldn't recommend her to my worst nightmare.

He totally explained my condition, treatment option and made me feel less anxiety. I then did agree to surgery. I am so grateful that I trusted him. The low level pain post surgery was LESS than the pain Pre surgery!

My husband has had complete knee replacement here. I’ve had 2 knee repair surgeries here. One 6 years ago & one November 6, 2023. We both have great respect for Solcum. Both love our Dr. and both of us pleased with our out come. We have friends who have gone here and feel the same. In our opinion and experiences, it’s a great, safe place. Everyone has always been kind and respectful to our needs. Thank you to everyone there.

On the positive side, ALL of the in-person staff and physicians are great. What is absolutely awful is the scheduling processes, telephone mazes, and basic care for the patient's needs. It's truly mostly about maximizing the revenue and ensuring there is minimal bad debt, as two schedulers alluded to.It took 3+ weeks to get my son's MRI scheduled. First they insisted they needed my insurance pre-approval even when I said we'd pay out of pocket (they never called back to book this per my request), especially as the cost difference was only $200. That price would have been well worth the 3+ week wait. Getting callbacks after leaving messages or voice mails from the scheduler and doctor is an exercise in waiting in vain.I understand that there maybe worker shortages but every single time we go to Slocum, there are myriad of greeters, data entry people, and support help. I don't understand why they can't fix the medical part of their business.
