Other than the issues rated in your survey my banking experience with Pen Fed has been great. I do regret that the service hours for phone service were changed and you close your services so much earlier. Late hours were great for those of us who need them. But overall I’m satisfied with Pen Fed.

Ask them about the amazing benefits they have for members. Customer service is always willing to help to the point , will you understand Never making you feel like a rushing you.

If I could rate PENFED negativity I would give them a negative 13. I have had more issues with them in the last 5 years then all other financial institutions in the last 50. They keep blaming computer issues, if that's the case they need to fire the head of IT. Today I got a survey asking about a recent application and my interaction with Bev. No one in the family has submitted an application in the last 6 + months. I called was told it was likely a computer error. My advise, stay away, stay far away. I have and will continue to move assets and close accounts. IMO They must be run by the Pentagon auditors who can't find billions of dollars.

I was very impress with the outstanding customer service I received from every agent I converse with. PenFed epidited the auto loan expeditiously where as, I was able ro pick up my auto loan check the next day via a Penfed location downtown Manhattan.
Got back on the train and headed toward the Riverdale Chrysler dealership. They confirmed the check. Took care of the paper work. I was out the door with my brand new 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited which I call White Lighting! My other jeep was called Black Lighting!
The process was easy as 1, 2, 3!

I have always been a fan of FCU. Have had dealings with AFCU and now have added PenFed to the list. I love the simplicity and the ease of use and doing business with FCU’s. I don’t trust or use any commercial banks.

Edited: 6/20/24. The saga continues…. Now these guys are quietly charging me $2 a month for paper statements. Nowhere was I offered anything but paper statements. The default should be whatever option is $0. By no means would I elect an option that siphons my money away. But again these guys have taken some questionable actions at various points during my business with them. And hey PenFed - you got my email and phone number so do us all a favor and contact me for sake of decent customer service instead of asking for me to call in.
Original review: These guys are straight up bone headed and elementary when it comes to providing professional financial services! Loan services division bares a complete lack of competence, effectiveness and efficiency as compared to all other comparable sized financial institutions. Penfed’s segmented loan departments don’t talk to each other and as a result you as a consumer pay the price when looking for timely service and I’m sure this translates to increased overhead costs. Beware of their promises for timeliness and use caution around their lack of follow through. Thanks Jason for dropping the ball a good number of time's!!!
