This post office is a hidden gem. No lines. The staff are always friendly and helpful.To the two other reviewers: shipping prices are set by the post office based on distance traveled. Local post offices do not get to adjust prices. *SMH

Every time I go into this post office they act like shipping a package is rocket science. Their policies fluctuate depending on who’s working. And almost everyone there is extremely unhelpful.

Went there to mail a package. I didn't have the top of the box taped with packing tape. I was offered 2 prices. One for priority one for regular ground. The priority was almost 40 dollars more so I picked regular ground. The woman at the counter said i need to tape the box. I asked if she had tape she said she would only tape it for free with priority tape? Um ok she said i had to buy a whole roll of packing tape if i wanted to ship the cheaper way?? What so if i ship the most expensive way they will put tape on the top of the box for free...but if i ship the cheaper way i have to buy a whole roll of packing tape? Wow. I just said no thank you and went to the post office in eugene later.....they didn't mind giving away a small free strip of tape. I won't ever come to the elmira post office to ship again. Very rude person. Very rude policy!
