The campsite is amazing, with water access and exceptionally clean restrooms. The shower water looks incredibly warm—there’s a possibility I drove over three hours just to take a shower, and happened to enjoy the beautiful lake view along the way. When I come back, I’ll definitely take a boat ride to get the full experience. I really envy those with boats—I finally understand the fun of the boating community, tirelessly hauling their boats around. Additionally, I’m looking forward to getting a campsite in the future where I can see the lake right from my car’s trunk.

The Cove Palisades State Park was a wonderful experience! The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. Visiting during the weekday meant the park was pleasantly quiet, providing a peaceful and relaxing escape. The tranquil environment, combined with attentive service, made it an ideal spot for a serene getaway. Highly recommend for a calm, enjoyable retreat in nature.

Family favorite. We come every year. We prefer the Crooked River Campground. Beat bathrooms & showered, so clean. Green grass at each site. Incredible scenery. Fun days on the lake.

We had never been to this gem.
It was just a drive through to check it out, but wow, what an amazing surprise.
Another Oregon State Park that is truly breathtaking.
Looks like tons of great camping, boating, swimming when the algae is gone, and just chilling.
We are definitely going back to camp.
Don't let this beauty not be visited.
It's 4 stars because until I camp.

Best lake in the whole state of Oregon, my entire family comes here every year to cool of in the pristine water in the summer before my dad has to go back to work. The rangers are very helpful and at the camp ground they put on a amazing show for all ages to teach you about wild life and history of this high desert lake that has filled my family's faces with smiles for many generations. The day use area has a pet friendly area that keeps dogs away from people who don't want to be near them while providing a area where dogs can relax and cool off. The day use area has many picnic tables on the beach and in the pet friendly area. If you want a picnic area with shade you might want to head to the lake early and place some chairs or a quick shade to reserve your table. The restrooms at the day use area are very accessible and have showers. The camp ground play ground is a great spot to take your kids.

Scenery, restrooms and parking were five star. Swim was three star due to aquatic plants and water clarity.

Was great location. We camped in the lower area by the dog park. Only complaints was Toilet and showers are so low to the ground it's like only short people or kids can use them.

Great in May before everything dries out. Arrow-leaf balsams in full bloom along with the scant rest of the variety of wildflowers blooming. Gorgeous gorge if you pardon the pun. Just be careful come June when the green-horses start pooping in the lake (locals know what I mean), it doesn’t really bother anything, it’s just kinda funny to think you’re jumping into ‘THAT!’ Have fun and stay safe, the bottom is 400’ below, so don’t sink.
