Poorly managed and operated it seems. Made an appointment and ended up being a huge waste of time. They were unable to resolve my issue.

This bank is a disgrace. I went to deposit $200 of cash into my roommate's bank account. I was informed that I cannot deposit cash at this bank. When asked for an explanation as to why I couldn't make such a basic transaction, the manager, Heather Brock, proceeds to explain in front of anyone listening that they are concerned this transaction could be "money laundering". Really??? $200 to my roommate. Disgraceful. The bankers, like Ms Brock, have yet to take any ownership of our financial collapse in 2008. They just make up their own bizarre rules. They are the swamp that needs the be drained.

I wish one could give negative stars..... Many years ago I moved my business accounts to a local bank, for very good reason - lack of customer service with even more appalling lack of even caring what their customers think about them or are treated. Today I had the unfortunate need to go there to cash 3 checks written ON the B of A. They charged $8 per check, in spite of it being from one of their "customers", who happens to be closing his account for the same very reasons. The "receptionist" or whatever the woman they have in that position is nothing if not rude and condescending, and I can't imagine a much worse person to be the one that is first point of contact when one goes into the bank. It reminded me well of why I left that bank many years ago, when they made a promise of "Beating my credit card rates or we'll give you $500." Which it turned out they could not do and of course did not do, and refused to give me the $500 promised after I spent close to 10 hours providing them with documentation they asked for. This is after me telling them I had a very good rate already, that I KNEW they couldn't beat - but it was "We'll pay you $500 if we can't." I went up the ladder as far as humanly possibly, only to be told no $500. I had 2 mortgages with them - the only blemish on my credit in 20 years is because the mortgage went up by $4, and they waited until the 25th of the month to return the check to me with zero notification that it was coming back, so I got the only late mortgage payment of my lifetime. Would they do anything to help me with the credit bureau? "We don't do that." They cared less about ruining/blemishing a perfect credit score of over 815. As quickly as I could I moved my 2 mortgages to a REAL local bank, Citizens Bank, who have treated me like Gold. As well as my business accounts, both checking, savings, CDs, HSA Accounts - about 9 or 10 accounts in all, not counting the mortgages. I hope I never have to enter that darkened door again. This being a big nationwide bank, one would hope on a local level they would try harder to impress locals - but it just means they have a bigger victim pool. I feel for anyone who makes the mistake of choosing Bank of American Corvallis for their local finances. Or worse yet, a business account, which is where my negative experiences all began around 24 years ago. It isn't just that incredibly rude "person/woman" that directs traffic in there (the small "desk" on the left as you enter - I wish I knew her name and will try to get it), it goes deeper to procedures and practices, and if I'm being screwed by a bank, I'd at least like to be lulled by niceness, which you will NOT find in this bank. I HIGHLY recommend you go to a REAL local bank, and not a conglomerate that needed billion$ in taxpayer bailouts just to continue mistreating customers. I wish they would be failed like any real business would have. Do yourself a favor and look further than Bank of American for any banking needs - there are real LOCAL banks who will treat you like a member of the community they live in and care about. Thanks for listening. A local business owner in Corvallis

Even though "polite" I sensed a great deal of passive aggressiveness from the staff. We went to open a new account arriving at about 3:15pm. We were greeted by a dark haired lady who commented on my daughter "Oh how cute! And she's already running around." Well actually I was holding her hand and she was standing right beside me. As we approach the teller we state we want to open a new account and she asks for a few details. Then she says "Do you live nearby?" No we do not. "Well You can't open an account unless you have an address?" Was that the original question? What is wrong with the address on the ID? "Oh, I did not see that." Than we sat in the lobby. At 3:45pm the dark haired lady said "It's not that I don't want to help you, but I have a lot of other things to do." "And So So here will assist you." Apparently customer service is not one of them. At 4:10pm we left and took our $5000 to Wells Fargo where they greeted us, gave us water and we opened and closed our account within 15 minutes. I dislike Bank America before, but now even greatly so more.

If I can avoid going back to this one I will. I think I got the most ill mannered teller I have ever seen. It took almost a half an hour for a teller to help me with only one person ahead of me and the woman ahead of me also got harassed by this teller. She kept trying to get her to get a credit card when the woman kept telling her she was going to be late for work. When she helped me she tried to get me to give her my bank card from another bank (shady), then went to talk to a manager about my signature on my ID, which I signed seven years before, even though my signature matched on my other form of ID. I checked after because I thought maybe she did that because both of them didn't match nope she's just a jerk. Sorry my ID will expire in November and if my signature was still the same after almost eight years I'd be surprised. That and she touched my hand at the beginning of the interaction... Who wants a rude stranger touching them?! I told her it bothered me and she didn't even apologize. I don't bank there and after this experience I never will.

I had had no complaints about the business I had conducted with this B of A branch until yesterday. I was working with one of the bank's employees about adding signatures to an account and found that, according to him, I did not have enough information to add additional signatures. When I reviewed the information that had been given me by the people whose signatures we wanted to add, it seemed like the information should have already been entered correctly. But, nevertheless, I tried to follow up on what was missing and contacted the people involved for additional information. When I also emailed the bank employee with whom I had been working on this project, he did not respond to my email (even though he had given me his business card and told me to call him or have the other people call him if they needed to). I understand I am not the only person needing his attention, but he could have at least responded to my email to let me know that he received it and would get back to me. I followed up today with a phone call. The person who took my call went to find this bank employee and returned to say he was busy, but that he would return my call. He did not. Based on this experience (I am still pursuing this), I rate the customer service at this bank as 1.5 out of 5 - which is higher than my rating of B of A at all.

Worst service ever, I lost money in transaction and I heard that happened a lot. I went to tell them but they are not helpful at all....they told me that I got lucky because other people lost a lot more than me

I have been banking here ever since I moved to Corvallis in 2008. I find the staff here great they almost always remembers who I am and ask me how my wife and daughter are doing along with business. They always have a smile on their faces and are very helpful. I enjoy banking here.
