They treated my two chihuahuas for fleas. They were kind and friendly. I will definitely be going back to them for my pet’s health care.

I am very disappointed that I have to fact check this practice’s response on my wife’s review but they seem to be just trying to cover for their practice’s lack of competence. It’s embarrassing that a practice has to run damage control over google reviews. Dr Hixson/Clark never treated their customers with this level of disrespect.
First of all, Leanne’s father didn’t give Alpine consent to care. He only approved and paid for the initial visit. He specifically told the front office reception to call his daughter with regards to plan of care (which Alpine didn’t do). This also isn’t the first time that communication issues have been a problem with this practice.
We had a similar issue last year when they were constantly calling my wife at work when I had specifically requested that they call me back with regards to the care of my cat (both in person and I had told them to write my phone number on his chart so that no mistakes would be made and it was clear who to contact). Alpine didn’t call me back and I was forced to call them several times to get updates regarding if I could pick my cat up after his surgery and I specifically requested a doctor to call me to talk about his diet (which also didn't happen). Under Dr. Clark’s practice, this would have never happened. Dr. Clark always provided clear and concise communication and returned calls when patients had questions regarding their pet’s care. With the current administration, you will be lucky to get a call back at all.
Neither my wife or I were contacted by Alpine to perform a necropsy. I even asked my father-in-law if they contacted him about it later and he told me they only offered “cremation services at your expense”. I had to physically call Alpine when I was out of the state on business to get some answers and they told me they contacted my father-in-law about the necropsy and he declined. They also didn’t have an answer why they didn’t call my wife or me regarding the ordeal just “we were told to contact your father-in-law”. Besides the fact that Alpine outright lied about the necropsy being offered, we wouldn’t want to bring our pet who died the night before into their office so they could just butcher her. We buried our dog with dignity after she passed and we would not treat this incident as some kind of science experiment that you could use to deny any kind of fault that your practice possibly committed.
This practice is absolutely not the same practice that Dr. Clark ran when he owned Alpine Animal Hospital. There is constant up-selling of services that are not necessary or required when an animal is sick and trying to recover. We don’t need flea and tick medication given to a pet when they are trying to fight off an infection, especially if the animal has no sign of fleas or ticks that would warrant the situation. Its unnecessary and a tactic that sales people in the medical industry use to sell products. The practice benefits off the guilt and emotions of the owner by all the add-ons when they are just trying to get their pet healthy again. This happened on two separate occasions and its clear this is a policy dictated by the practice in order to generate revenue. Dr. Clark never did this and its shameful that Alpine does it now.
Its fairly clear that new management here doesn’t have the patient’s best interest at heart. The extremely poor communication, the up-selling of unnecessary products/services and the audacity to gaslight your clients in Google Reviews ensures that we will NEVER return to this practice ever again. If you value your pet’s life, safety and health find a vet that actually communicates correctly, provides only necessary services and makes it right when they make a mistake regarding your pet’s care.
We miss our dog Annie so much and we regret taking her to Alpine’s Animal Hospital to seek treatment.

Have been going here for years and took 4 of my pets here. Absolutely loved Dr. Hixson and was so sorry to see him go. He was so good at telling it like it was and helping me make the best decision for my pets.
So I was disappointed recently after tragically my dog died suddenly at a young age and despite her being a patient there I couldn’t get a vet on the phone for even 2 minutes to ask some questions about probable causes. I navigated her end of life alone and decided to do necropsy at OSU. When I did go pick up her body from Alpine to take to OSU, I asked Dr. Mills what she thought and she rather flippantly and with confident certainty said it was the fly trap she had eaten. I said, really? Even though it is listed as being non-toxic? She said yes. I was beside myself to think I could’ve contributed to her death. But once necropsy came back it was determined that she had cardiac fibrosis from a long-standing unknown heart condition. It actually wasn’t the fly bag trap after all but for days I was so sick thinking that I had done something to contribute to her death. I think a more thoughtful phone conversation for just a few minutes would’ve done wonders and would’ve shown more compassion to us in our situation.
I do want to say thank you to the front desk for being patient and kind and returning phone calls promptly and helping with cremation questions, etc.

Your clinic was highly recommended by family, friends, on social media, and Google reviews. I was also looking for a clinic which would provide a reduced cost neutering service and one I could trust to provide care for my dog beyond the neutering service. I believe I have found what I was looking for.
Thank you!

This has been our family's clinic for the past 40 years, but it is no longer a place that I can trust to take good care of my pets. My dog Annie, a rescue (9/10 years old) was brought in for an eye infection, which led them to discover there was an underlying dental infection. They ended up taking 38 out of her 40 teeth without letting me know. They sent her home after only a couple of hours of recovery, and she ended up passing away in the night. Of course these things happen, but the issue I have is that they sent an old dog home without monitoring her after a very traumatic surgery. She was absolutely fine before all of this, still eating and drinking. This clinic seems to be very money driven, adding on a flea and tick treatment when we were there for an acute issue. They had a laundry list of items that they wanted to do, have her follow up with orthopedics for her knees, which were not a problem, and it just seems like they wanted to make money rather than deal with the current problem, and allow us to follow up with routine care later on.

It's hands down the best furbaby hospital. Highly recommended for all services. Thank you, Chelsea, for going above and beyond for Leo and me.

We came in for our blocked cat, after calling quite a few vets (including the one our dogs go to) and we couldn’t get him in! Alpine took us in right away! Doctors, staff and reception were so kind during a scary time! Really informative and helpful, and took great care of our cat! Upfront about costs and his procedure, as well as after care. We were really blown away by how kind the doctors were when calling to report on how our kitty was doing! 10/10! Made a scary experience seem lighter!

Have to hound them for calls back from the doctors. I understand clinics being busy but I’d call and a week or two would go by without hearing anything back, and I’d have to call again. Called on the 26th of July about my dog’s behavioral condition getting worse, called again on the 5th of August and have still not heard back from anybody.

The staff were very helpful and did an outstanding job of helping ease my mind before my dog went into surgery. They were great with us for the after care, explanations and release of our dog. I also appreciate the fact that they are so much more affordable for this procedure than anywhere else I contacted.

I tried to get an appointment and they demanded a $100.00 deposit before they would see my dog.
