Started OK but ended poorly. I test drove a van & my mechanic looked under the hood using a flashlight for less than 5 minutes. He says without lifting it up the engine looks good except for a broken air filter case he noticed. (They did fix this...so there is one positive). When I return the salesman lectures me for having my mechanic look under the hood and he tells me you can't use kelly blue book (6000 max value) to price vehicles because its not accurate. I say we'd pay 7350. When I get to the bank for the loan they will only fund up to 6600. Evidently, everybody uses kelly blue except Al Hutchinson and his salesman Tony. He came down $100 more. We head to the coast the next day and the breaks are pulsating. Next day I returned it. They have it for 2 days and they call & say they drove it & that the pulsating is normal for
antilock breaks & they have a report from the ford dealer in corvallis that the breaks are fine & won't fix it. I said, " I really want to write you guys a good review but if getting this right is hard I can't." The salesman raises his voice and says he won't be blackmailed. I say well I'm going ( honestly at this point I am pretty upset) to check in with the ford dealer and get a 2nd opinion. I go talk with the Ford dealership and they say this report is an oil change and just a visual check on breaks ( the pads are probably good). Then I happened on the mechanic shop that services Al's vehicles and the mechanic drives it...says they are pulsating more than they should...rotors need work. It's not dangerous but will only get worse. So I take it back ...Al says I'll talk with the salesman & call. I'm feeling like I shouldn't have to fix the breaks 1 day after I buy it and les swab said they will turn the rotors for 150 (Les Swab says the rotors are pretty glazed and warped rotors are the most common cause of pulsating). I asked Al to Split the cost... I'll be happy. He calls me the next day ( 2 hours later than he said he would) and then says his mechanics saw your mechanic break the air filter...totally fabricated a story. & the mechanic that told you that the rotors are warped is bad at diagnosing issues. Then he says I don't even want you as a customer & we didn't make any money on this deal. Al then says, "if I hadn't already turned in the papers to the dmv, I would buy it back. I never told Al but the battery was 5 years old & not holding a charge so I replaced it as well. The next day I try to talk to him again & he threatens to throw me out. AVOID Al. He cuts corners and seems to be dishonest and shady. In this process of trying to fix this issue I ran into about 3 different people who had either worked for him or had experinces with Al and not one person could say something positive about his business practices or customer service.

I traveled 600 miles round trip to go buy a shuttle bus that Anthony totally misrepresented and flat out lied about the condition of it. I tried doing FaceTime video but connection was bad so I could not see well. Said one seat had a small problem on corner when actually many of them were trashed, one was almost entirely electrical taped together. Had water puddle in middle of floor from an leak, and the bus door had been in an accident and would not even close, and would scoop water into bus if driven. The side panel and door frame had all been wrecked. He called it “minor cosmetic damage”. Intentionally lied to us and wasted 12 hours of driving and gas for nothing, with my wife in tears on way home. Crooked operation. The ad says it has Carrier Air Conditioner. It does not have rear air at all, and the ad still says it does. When I pointed out he said it was a mistake but he still has listed with it. Don’t trust this place!

Great people here, I sold my car but along the way I was being very indecisive.. none the less, I called them and was connected to Tony. He was the gent assisting me with the sale & he was great. On his day off he went with me to pay off my auto loan at my credit union. So flexible & convenient for me. Tony you're much appreciated and took a load of stress off my shoulders. Thank you.

Sold me a vehicle that didn't have a clean title. Bought in August 2021 still don't have any title, can't register the car, can't insure the car. So I can't drive the car. I've left 3 messages for Al, other calls to employees. Nothing. Run don't walk away from Al Hutchinson Auto and purchase from a more ethical, customer focused dealer.

These guys were great. Straightforward. Paperwork was unencumbered. I bought a used Lincoln Continental from them and it is very nice. It was a great deal on a rare low-mile car. I recommend.

I went to them after being recommended from my father-in-law. They didn't have the vehicle that I was looking for, but they showed me something better. It was right in the price range that I wanted, and had less miles on it than other cars I had viewed. The interior is perfect, and they were very helpful and knowledgeable about the jeep. There was an issue that was found right after I bought it, and they said they would replace it. It was minor, but still, I've had bad luck with car lots before. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to buy a used car. No pressure salesmen, down to earth owner, and honest about their vehicles. It's a used car lot, but it's nothing like those that that try to sell you a car with the check engine light on and lie to you about why it's on. I had a very good experience with them and hopefully will have the privilege to work with them again when it's time to buy my son a car.

Heads up people. I've bought many cars from dealers. this one AL HUTCHINSON is by far the saddest example of a car dealership. I called the salesmen around noon to see if a certain car was available. He told me yes and I drove 3 hours round trip (From Vancouver Wa) to buy this car. We talked on my way down and agreed on a price and I was headed down to buy it. Pulled into the lot and he called me and said he just sold it (Per the owners demand) to another person. Sad example of a good home town dealership. Stay away from this place not trustworthy at all.
