I took my sweet frenchie Maximus here early Sunday morning, they were so sweet and kind and said he had a pain response in his hind legs which was actually good news with IVDD. Their neuro wasn't in so they referred us to a nearby clinic who talked doom and gloom From the very first doctor we saw. They said Max had no pain response, we explained that he had been given pain meds at VCA but they didn't want to hear it. The second clinic didn't MRI max for almost 12 hours then called to say there was nothing they could do. We lost him that night and are completely broken. I wish we could have stayed at VCA.

Between the dates of 1/18/23 - 2/14/24. I have been taking my dog Leeloo (7y F) to see VCA Northwest to have them diagnose and treat her rear leg lameness. For the last year they have tried neurologic assessment and treatment, orthopedic assessment and treatment, radiology, several follow-up visits, without any indication that they had a diagnosis that they were working on correcting. The treatments were each used to try and identify what may be going on with her. I recently moved and went to another VCA closer to my home, they recommended that I take her to Healing Arts Animal Care. I took Leeloo there and within 15 minutes of the doctor seeing her, they were able to identify what she had been dealing with two torn cruciate ligaments I followed up with their recommendation for a new full set of X-Rays as the ones taken a year ago at VCA NW were not only old, but were not taken with the intent to diagnose a torn cruciate. With the new diagnosis and correct X-Rays, I reached out to VCA Northwest to seek a refund for the year of "treatment" that they provided and failed to diagnose her condition. During that first call with their clinic, the front desk associate asked where we got the diagnosis, and when we told her that it was Healing Arts Animal Care, she paused and said that they refer a large number of patients there. This lit a fire inside me as I have spent the last year and thousands of dollars to try and diagnose her condition, only to b informed by the front desk that the place that gave the definitive diagnosis within minutes, is also a place that they refer to. The front desk associate gave me a contact for two of their managers that would be the ones handling the possible refund for the services rendered. I reached out to both of them and they in turn asked for some time to look into it. After several days they informed me that they are not willing to issue a refund as her treatment "was handled appropriately based on the comprehensive records from multiple sources, including our hospital (VCA NWVS), VCA Murrayhill, Willamette Valley Animal Hospital, and Healing Arts Animal Care. It has been noted that since February 2023, Leeloo presented with symptoms that did not align with a cruciate tear but rather indicated a different diagnosis. Furthermore, the x-rays taken in December 2023 did not show any evidence of a cruciate injury. While we acknowledge that cruciate injuries are not always definitive through x-rays alone, the absence of any such evidence months after the alleged injury is noteworthy." They noted that she showed signs of a "different diagnosis" but would not indicate what that was, and the whole time they were telling me that they have no idea what it could be without taking an MRI. They also noted that the X-Ray from "December 2023 did not show any evidence of a cruciate injury." But the current doctor at Healing Arts asked me to have them re-done because they were not clear and surely were not likely looking for a torn cruciate at that time. During one of Leeloo's visits to VCA Northwest they also attempted to take a joint culture, and were unsuccessful in that process. After the failed attempt at this Leeloo's joint began to swell really bad, and it was brought to our attention that their could have been a bacterial introduction as a result. They then proceeded to charge me to treat this "other symptoms that did not align with a cruciate tear." I am still seeking a full reimbursement for the year of treatment that VCA Northwest provided without ANY diagnosis. I feel that the treatment of Leeloo has been unethical and inhumane. She has been in pain for over a year, with all consistent symptoms, the only time they were different was when the bacteria was introduced during a failed joint tap for a culture sample. I just want everyone to see this, as I feel it is malpractice. If you care for your pets take them somewhere where they actually care for them, and care for you.

Where do I even begin. Y'all are the best. I knew it was going to be expensive but they charged me a lot less than they could have and gave me a medication from the donation box.Their tech was the absolute best with me and my shy girl, the vet's assistant was kind and talked over all the details with me, and the vet was fun and generous with their services.Thank you guys so much for helping a stressful time go a lot smoother.I loved VCA out in Oklahoma too, glad to see NW locations living up.

My dog had surgery with this clinic and although she had a lot of complications, the surgeon (Dr. Salyer) was SO attentive and reassuring. Communicating with the emergency staff was more difficult, but overall, I would 100% bring my dog back here and recommend them to anyone who needs a surgery done for the pet.

I took my cat Scout to VCA Northwest because she became ill quite suddenly. They got me in as an emergency case and over the next two days they did an ultrasound and needle biopsy on her liver. It became clear that Scout would not recover so I arranged to have her put to sleep. The vets, vet techs, and desk staff were thorough and very compassionate. Dr. Vickstrom (I'm not sure of the spelling) put Scout to sleep. It was a very sad experience but these great people helped me a lot.

From the front desk team, with Destiny hearing the desperation in my voice to see a surgeon, to Dr Salyer shuffling her schedule to perform a splenectomy on our beloved Nori, we are so very grateful to VCA NW Veterinary Specialists for giving Nori a new lease on life. Words cannot express how important Nori is to us ❤️ Here is a picture of her at Mt Hood 2 weeks post-splenectomy! She is a warrior!

I left a pretty negative review on March 30th and was invited to contact the clinic via email. I did that on April 3rd and never received a response.

Customer service at front desk was not satisfactory. No one acknowledges you are there when you enter the facility. The doctors assistant was really grumpy. Not personable at all. I would not recommend this place. I am use to personable people when I go to a vet.

I want to thank DVM Sarah Salyer and the entire VCA staff for the professional services provided for our senior lab Abby's surgery. From finding a defective parathyroid gland located in her neck, to the discovery of a cancerous tumor on her liver DVM Sarah Salyer and her team were spot on in prognosis, surgery, treatment plan, and follow up appointments, monitoring her recovery progress from start to finish. The recommended plan and procedures were explained thoroughly before the surgery was scheduled, emails were also provided recapping details and information. We are very grateful for the care provided to Abby while in the care of DVM Sarah Salyer and VCA staff, her recovery went well and at her last appointment yesterday, her stitches were removed and she is able to resume her normal activities. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Best staff ever and Dr. Michelle Taylor is one of the most patient, compassionate and caring Vets. Been seeing our boy Beau since he was diagnosed with a juvenile cataract at 1.5 years old.

We meet Dr. Bilderback last week and I can say it was one of the best experiences I had in a long time. She is direct, honest and compassionate, listens to everything you tell her about your fur baby, recommends what's best and doesn't push anything. She takes the time to explain and again...listens, which is a rare quality those days as most people just hear. If you need a great Neurosurgeon for your pet, she is the one to go. I can't praise her and thank her enough for the kindness and care she showed my furry kid and me when needed. She also takes time to call back for updates and takes the time to again, listen and clear all questions. Her visit review notes are clear and detailed making it easy for moms as me to follow. Her assistant and the staff there are amazingly kind and very attentive, a great team! Thank you for being an awesome vet and human being! Octavia and Niklas
