Great little, local powerlifting and strongman gym with everything you need. The specialty equipment is top-notch and available at the lab.The lab can get a little crowded in the afternoon, but nothing compared to your average commercial gym. The energy and support is great when people are around, and the 24/7 access is a bonus.The coaching and programming has been incredible. I have decent natural movement patterns, but had sports injuries (ACL and Achilles) in my 20s and 30s, both resulting in surgery. How I used to train, the injuries, and my skeletal structure resulted in dealing with a lot of chronic, moderate pain in my knee and shoulders. The coaching and monthly program helped eliminate my knee issues and reduce my shoulder issues to the point I've hit some record-setting squats and bench.

Let me split this review up into three sections, the equipment, the gym and the coaching. First, the equipment they produce is top notch. Check reviews for any of their items online. Nice manufacturing, welding and design. Made here in Portland or by Rogue in Ohio. I own several of their bars and strongly recommend them. It may take a while to get your order though.The gym, or "Lab," is nice and decently equipped. There is a selection of monolifts, racks and platforms. No shower or locker area and it could benefit from a more frequent cleaning. It can get crowded on afternoons but is open 24/7 for those who like to train without other people. There are occasional closures on weekends for seminars that are not well announced. Overall, if I was visiting Portland for a day, I would visit a gym with a little more history like Loprinzi's.Lastly the coaching. I have been a weekly coaching client for almost 3 years. Lately there have been problems with website and technology, payments, and large month-long lapses in communication. This has caused me to look for coaching elsewhere. Would not recommend.

Similar to what many others are saying, their customer service will leave you frustrated and scammed. I ordered a PR deadlift bar and was told it would be shipped in 4 weeks in NOVEMBER 2022 as part of their Black Friday sale. Radio silence for about 6 weeks, so I decide to email them. After waiting for a response, they said their factory had issues yada yada. Told me they would email me with an update. Surprise, they didn't. Waited another 2 weeks, email again, told me they had no update. A little while later I see on their website that they are selling the white frost bar and it ships in 2 weeks??? so why isn't my bar done and they're taking new orders for another color (I ordered blue). I email and ask if I can have my order changed to a white bar so I can get it sooner (I was planning to use the bar for comp prep). They say they can, but itll be an additional 80-90ish dollars, so I would lose the sale price from black friday... which is absolutely ridiculous. You lead a customer on for weeks then won't even try to make things right by just switching the order? They would make the 80-90 difference back when they sell my original bar for full price! At this point customer service has stopped answering my emails after empty promises. It is now almost MARCH 2023 and I have not received any updates even though I was told they would "personally look into this case." Terrible company with terrible business practices and terrible customer service. Do yourself a favor and just buy a Texas Bar. Kabuki Strength is a bunch of scam artists who don't care about their customers, only about taking their money and loading up on orders they cannot fulfill. They won't even attempt to make things right. I very rarely post reviews of anything but this sent me over the edge.

Dishonest review management on their website.I wrote a two star review for their flywheel device because it didn't come with all the required hardware of assembly, the engineering needs improvement, and the manufacturing needs updated quality checks.They said they would send the missing hardware to me, it never arrived.I know they received my review and read it because the engineer of the product contacted me regarding my suggestions but Kabuki still didn't post the review.Hiding my two star review on a product makes me question how many other reviews are hidden.

Even though my shoulderok shipped later than expected, it still arrived before Christmas. Nicely packaged, so no damage from UPS. Haven't had a chance to use it but it looks to be a well manufactured piece of equipment.

I think they have a great product, unfortunately I think this is causing them to ignore customer service. One or two word email responses, no instructions. It’s too bad, because there is always another company coming along.

Let me start by saying, I was very excited to visit this gym. Some of my close family lives 7 minutes away from this gym, and when I planned on visiting, I made sure to check on powerlifting gyms nearby. I found Kabuki Strength and bought 2 day passes ahead of time. This place has a very different atmosphere than commercial gyms have, and I liked it. Obviously, when coming into something new, one might be a little more closed off, as I was. The gym-goers were very serious, and clearly dedicated. On both of my days, I saw a big dude with a beard, and he was friendly towards me. This gym is small, but has everything I needed. I love how Kabuki has several bars to choose from, and several platforms based of each of the 3 core lifts.The first day I was lost, and I asked this female for help, and she was kind enough to redirect me to Brandon, who was more knowledgable in the matter. He was very nice, and had a calm and friendly aura.The reason I am taking off a star is because I asked this staff member about the day passes, and the wifi password, and he seemed annoyed and uninterested, aside from saying he didn't know the password. He seemed busier to be scrolling through his phone. He didn't know anything about the day passes either; I would assume staff would be knowledgable about these simple things.Overall, I would definitely return to Kabuki Strength on more of my trips. I was satisfied with my time working out here, so thank you.

High level (the best at what they make) equipment, great customer service! Seriously if you can afford it, the tools are really going to make a difference in your training/coaching.

I pay the $100 a month gym fee, plus the $200 "initiation fee", and within my first month, they randomly closed for a weekend (emailed on Friday that they'd be closed for the weekend, I'd like at least a week of notice, plus those are days I paid for), the personal trainers never got back to me when I inquired about personal training/coaching sessions. I gave two stars because the equipment is nice enough. But nothing else is worth returning or getting excited about. Switching gyms at the end of the month.

These plates and equipment are great!but not worth what their asking for. Way over priced. You can get pretty similar products for a lot less.

This store is a joke. I ordered a squat bar in August with a lead time of 8 weeks. They took my money and 6 months later instead of a squat bar I have a bunch of excuses. Save your money and time and purchase from a real business that only takes your money when they ship your product.

Absolutely incredible customer service. You can't beat how welcoming and nice these guys are, and even though there was a slight order mix up, these guys went above and beyond to make things right. Everyone makes mistakes, but not everyone does what's necessary to fix them. Awesome company, awesome facility, awesome employees, awesome customer service.

This place is amazing, the facility is always clean, they add new machines as well as have many machines, there is plenty of equipment to have any type of workout you want.
