I arrived for my eye appointment only to be told that their "system had been down all day" and I would have to pay out of pocket or reschedule. I had already had to reschedule once due to them not having a doctor available on the day of my original appointment. I would not recommend going here unless you call ahead the same day to make sure they will be able to run your insurance and that the doctor is actually working that day. Ridiculous!

I had a positive experience start to finish. I was very quietly and professionally upsold on my lenses and still paid less all out of pocket than when I used insurance in purchasing glasses in the past five years. That said I can see why people get a little sticker shocked because of the advertising. Great service and staff.

I’ve had nothing but issues with this America’s Best. They are frequently closed when they should be open, they can’t accept cash and if you do try to pay with cash, they tell you to come back. The customer service is lacking, and that’s putting it mildly. Trying to call the store directly is a joke, because you wait on hold for over 20 minutes until you get frustrated and hang up only to have to call them again and wait even longer. I would definitely go somewhere else.

Good God, get this doctor some echinacea. I have been trying to successfully complete an eye exam here for three months. The first time, they canceled on me with less than an hours notice via a robot texting me, with no explanation. I had to call to find out the reason was because the doctor was sick.The second time, I arrived for my appointment, and was told that there were three people ahead of me (why make an appointment?). I waited for 25 minutes and then had to bail because I had to get back to work.Third time should be the charm, but I arrived this morning for my appointment, and walked in to find out that the doctor had called in sick again.Obviously, we all know what we’re getting ourselves into when we come here. It’s fast food optometry, but I have simple eyes and that’s all I need. It just seems like after receiving 45 reminder emails and text messages for my appointment, as if I am not a grown adult who can manage a calendar, they might at least have thought up a backup plan for when this doctor gets sick, which seems to be quite often.

Terrible place. Waited almost 2 weeks for an appointment and was turned away because I was 5 minutes outside of my appointment window. They were rude and unhelpful and I would rather not see then consider setting up another appointment with them. AWFUL place. AWFUL people.

I went to get two pairs of cheap glasses to have extras to keep in my bedrrom and car. They seemed very upset that I was saving my insurance to use on a nice pair of glasses at my usual eye doctor. Very snooty and rude eye doctor with an office of unhappy big women.

This place is kind of a mess. The staff is clearly overwhelmed and I witnessed at least two customers in the hour I was there leave in frustration without getting what they needed.I went through the whole process of getting an eye exam and picking up glasses only to be told that they couldn't find my insurance on their computers even though I'm in their Network.So I wasted about an hour and a half of my time and didn't get anything out of it. It looks like these folks just don't really know what they're doing.

Eye exam was quick but they ended up charging me an extra 100 dollars more then what they said on the phone I didn't have that to spend as well as I waiting to pick my frames they skipped me like 10 times. They would help people that just walked in the door instead of me who had been standing their for 20 mins

This place is a bait and switch mouse house that should be selling used cars instead of eyeglasses. There whole business model is based on 2 pair of eyeglasses with an exam for 79.95. I went to this place on August 1 for an eye exam and 2 pair of eyeglasses. My eye exam went great by a very professional optometrist. I was directed to the wall of eyeglass frames and was told to pick one out and my service rep would be with me next. I picked one out that said 79.95 just like 100’s of other ones. My rep wrote up my order for 79.95 plus my contact lenses exam. They texted me on the 17th to pick up my eyeglasses. When I got there they adjusted them and I said where is the other pair ? They searched all the drawers in the cabinet and turned me to someone else. They looked up my order said I only get one pair because I got a contact lens exam. I pointed to their sign that said the 2 pairs included the eye exam and the last time I got 2 pairs and paid extra for the contact lenses exam. Then they turned me someone else. They got on the computer and said I didn’t buy 2 pairs before. I told her I purchased them from their Hazel Dell store about 10 years ago. She looked up that store and saw I had bought them before. Then she said I must have bought a green tag instead of a blue. I had no clue what she was talking about but if I wanted another pair it would cost another 79.95. I’m still seeing the 2 pair sign so she goes to the wall of frames to find my frames to show me the tag. She spends about 20 minutes with no luck. Then she goes on line to the company website and shows me the frames and says see. I still didn’t get it if I knew I needed a blue tag I would have got 1 they are really boring frames and they all look the same to me. The manager wouldn’t be in till 11:00 so I politely said I would take it up with corporate and left.So on Monday I call customer service and I was determined because I waited 41 minutes on hold. I finally got a real person and she very sympathetic and apologetic. She seemed very determined to come to a resolution. So back on hold for 20 minutes while she called Chelsea the manager. She is busy and can’t talk right now so if I don’t mind waiting on hold again she will call Chelsea again. After another 20 minutes on hold she said bring in 39.00 and I can get another pair. So I suggested I return her green tag and pick a blue tag that seriously looks just like it. She says I should talk to Chelsea direct and she will have her call me back with in 5 minutes. Great almost done till I get another call from customer service and says Chelsea is going into a meeting and will call me as soon as she gets out. I say fine of course no call all day.I would not recommend this business under any circumstances. The employees and management are completely incompetent.

This place is terrible I went in on 8-1for an eye exam and 2 pairs for 79.95 what I got was 1 pair for 79.95 and a flimsy excuse of how I ordered it wrong.I then called their customer service and got customer no service instead. They got rid of me by saying Chelsea the manager would call me right back.That was a lie. These people don't honor their advertised price and are just plain liars. Please check out the reviews of similar companies before choosing this one.

Tania first greeted me when I walked in and was extremely polite and helped me out to purchase some glasses! Didn't high ball me like these other places and answered all my needs! Will be working with her from now on! Astonishing customer service

Visited the 82nd Ave location to get my eye exam & contacts. Made an appointment and was delighted they were able to see me almost immediately at my appointment time, unlike Stanton Optical that makes you wait no matter if you have an appointment or not. The staff, techs and doctor are all wonderful and the doctor especially has such a calming and soothing manner, it was wonderful after a long and crazy workday! Very happy with the service, professionalism and my new contacts. Absolutely recommended.

Speedy appointment, great eye doctor. Was going to get frames there but the person I was dealing with made that impossible. I wanted to get the lenses cut/fitted to an older set of identical frames I brought with me and then move the to my current frames. The older set had a broken hinge which would not have affected the fitting of the lenses. The service person said the lab would "reject" them and not cut the lenses. They said they have no way of communicating my needs to the lab! That is ridiculous so I said fine, I 'd go to Walmart for the lenses and did so.

I have been an America's Best customer for decades in different locations. Recently on a trip to the Portland area, one lens and one nose piece fell out of a pair of glasses, and I took them to this store, which I had never visited. Tanya immediately repaired them and I was on my way. Great service and very friendly!
