My husband and I were staying at Seven Feathers RV resort. The left turn signal on our tow vehicle (Jeep Grand Cherokee) went out. We stopped into Hytech Auto to see if they could help. Bill and his wife took us in immediately. Bill dropped what he was doing, took a look, and found that the transmitters for our tow vehicle brake system had been mounted so low, dirt, rain and debris worked their way inside, corroding our connectors. Bill pulled the connectors, cleaned off the corrosion, and re-mounted the transmitters to a higher location to keep them clean. He got us back on the road quickly, and for a very reasonable price. I wish we had someone like him where we live (Northern Nevada). People like these folks are becoming hard to find. We're very grateful we found them!

A brilliant talent that Canyonville is so fortunate to have in their midst! We were traveling through in our motorhome when our tow vehicle, a Honda CRV, had an air conditioner issue. He got me in the same day and by the end of the day had taken care of everything for us at a reasonable price. This guy has been at this for over four decades and is a true master! Thanks again Bill!!

If I could give 10 stars, I would! Bill Dunlap is not only knowledgeable, he is professional and genuine. We had our braking and lighting system installed on our Jeep about a 1.5 years ago for towing behind our motorhome at what we thought was a reputable business in Auburn, CA. Ever since then, our Jeep has put out various codes from "Park Light Out", to our door locks not operating, etc. They denied any wrongdoing, so we have lived with this annoyance all this time. Our dealership on the Jeep would not even look at it since it was after-market even given we spent thousands for a warranty there. We will not being going back to either location in the future. When we left our home, only 10 miles into our 6+ hour drive, with Jeep in tow, my husband notices smoke coming out of the left taillight of the Jeep! Wow, we both panicked a bit, of course! We thought our trip was over and we could be looking at some major repairs! We managed to turn off the running lights and the smoke stopped, so we continued on our journey. Then, we got another code that the right rear taillight is out! So much drama on our vacation we did not need! We managed to get to our destination and came across Hy Tech Auto Repair within minutes of the Seven Feathers RV Park. Bill convinced us that he could repair this, and he was RIGHT! He fixed the entire mess that was caused by the previous installation and showed us a bucket full of wires that were not needed for the lights/brakes to work perfectly! Not only did he fix it perfect and UNDER estimate, he came to our site to check on it before we left and offered to come back the next day! Thankfully, we did not need him to, but that is what good old fashioned customer service is all about. Thank you Bill Dunlap! God bless you and yours!

I’ve taken several of my vehicle here for years despite living in a different city, because it is so hard to find a competent and skilled mechanic who is honest. Bill (the owner) is one of the few certified master mechanics in Oregon. He also does custom jobs and classic car restoration. I’m very happy with Hy Tech, they can fix anything and at an honest price.Services: Tire rotations

Very knowledgeable. As a former tech, he is one of the very few people I let put hands on my vehicles. Bill is great at trying to help people save a buck, while still maintaining high quality.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Big shout out to Bill and his crew. My daughter was on her way home to Corvallis after visiting for Christmas and her serpentine belt snapped near their shop and she called them and they drove out to her and were able to limp her car back to the shop and fixed it in less then 30 minutes.

While on a road trip with my family, I noticed a coolant leak coming from somewhere in my engine in Salem, Oregon. I knew I had to get to Canyonville, Oregon about 2.5 hours away, because all the repair shops in Salem were too busy, no one could fit us in. One guy referred me to Bill at Hy Tech in Canyonville, Or. I called Bill and told him about the leak. I even sent him pix via email to look at it. He told me he'd be waiting for me once we got there. Needless to say, after talking me through what the issues could be, we made it. Bill fixed my car and we were on our way in just 24 hrs. Bill is a stand up guy and an expert at what he does. Highly recommend him. Thanks Bill!

I have always had great service. What's more I live clear across the country and I can call and ask his professional opinion. As a single woman I've had plenty of mechanics try and take advantage. Bill has always been spot on and I won't buy a car without consulting him first. His wife runs the office and Denise Dunlap is very knowledgeable about pricing and parts. Honesty in business is hard to find.

Brought my car there in Feb 2020, I agreed to $325 worth of work done, and a diagnostic to find out what else was wrong with it. He charged me $2,000 because he fixed everything WITHOUT my permission. He has been holding onto my car ever since.

Hy Tech auto was very nice and kind! My engine broke while going through the pass and I ended up getting towed to his shop. He wasn’t able to do the repairs in time and I needed to be back for work. I got a tow truck to tow me back to WA the next day but in the meantime I needed a place to park my car. Even though he is not working on my car, he still allowed me to park in his awning so the sun wouldn’t heat up my car and allowed me to use his restroom whenever I needed. He was very honest with his prices and time frame of how long it would take to fix. He even used his resources to find me ways to get home and find an engine. He really cares for your well being and will do anything to help you. Thank you and if I’m ever in the area again, I will definitely have him work on my car.
