A little more pricy than the Dollar Tree, but it does have some more sophisticated products.

Great employees always willing to help, have most things on most days and no crowds compared to the market. Always an easy in and out for most things you need and with the crazy prices everywhere now they are a nice option to have.

We are visiting Brookings and our family went in to buy canvas camp chairs so we could sit on the beach. Not only did they not have any the only cheap flimsy chairs they were selling cost $90 and $55. These little beach chairs are something you would pay under 15.00 for. Needless to say, we will not be buying anything at the dollar general.

The positive points are... quick, easy access to grab a loaf of bread or a staple that you might need. For being a small store there really are a decent amount of options. The negative points are... no body wore a mask through the entire pandemic. The woman that's usually ringing people up was having a big long conversation about the reason that nobody wants to work anymore is because unemployment pays them so much. Which is pretty insensitive considering most people that shop there are low income and possibly on unemployment. And I can't even tell you how many times I asked the checker to check the medication for expired medicine because not only have I purchased expired stuff there but every time I go there, I bring up a couple of medications that I noticed were expired. She probably puts them back on the shelf after I leave. Plus she needs customer service training, she's rude!
