All of the negative reviews on here with all the thumbs up? Unfortunately accurate. This hospital used to be decent, but since moving to the new location they have continued to go downhill more and more with each time I have needed to go there.I have brought my pets here, most everyone reviewing negatively is right, there are extremely long wait times almost always. Longer than many other ERs in Portland. If your pet sounds "stable" they will just add you to a wait at home list and you just have to wait for them to reach out and hope your pet is okay during that time. They said to call if she worsened, but then when I called they dismissed what I was describing to them. We were also told there's a 2-4 hour wait upon arrival, I understand that more sick pets go first, but they didn't even check mine at ALL to determine if it was stable to begin with...? So my animals have sat at home, in urgent need of care (which they would have known if they had me bring them in, and even checked initial vitals or triaged them..) for over 10+ hours, to then go in once called to wait another 6+ hours in their lobby. To then be told "oh it's good we caught this because it could have killed them..."Unless your pet is critical, actively obviously dying or dead they don't care and you can just "wait your turn."The techs do not know what they're talking about and each one would say something slightly or very different. Not knowledgeable when asked further questions or to explain something more. The doctors overall have been nice, but some with multiple experiences did not give as good of care across the board. Feels like they're cutting corners and or trying to "bandaid" a bigger issue.Vet bills are always expensive, honestly this vet ER is more affordable than others... However... You get what you pay for. And this place isn't worth a dime in my opinion.I took my pets to the old location of this same hospital before they moved into the huge building they're in now, and when we were there they were overall a much better hospital and gave much higher care.. the new hospital even says it is "specialty" as well but when I asked if my dog could get seen there for the referral they tried to recommend to get me to do, they told me "oh we don't actually have any specialists or specialty in this building" okay ... Then why is it plastered across the outside of your building in giant neon signs..? Very very misleading and we had to wait weeks to get into an actual specialist, after giving them tons of money and time already..This place has gone WAY downhill in the last two years since they moved and honestly I hope the owner gets their sh*t together and actually begins ensuring good quality medicine is being given.. or that their employees are actually trained properly..Unless you have no other options, do not go here. Do not trust them with your pets well being.I have gone to bridgetown vet and also bluepearl and I would highly recommend them over this establishment.

We could not be happier with the wonderful service we were given for our 11 month old Chocolate Labrador Retriever! The staff and Veterinarians were so helpful and took wonderful care of Billy! Thank you to all the staff from intake to discharge and all the medical attention inbetween, even at 1am when we had to take our puppy to the hospital!

I spent 4k over Christmas for my shepherd, only for them to tell me it just must have been a "bug" that caused him to be sick. This place is a money mill....

Huge appreciation for this emergency center. Triaged very quickly to treat based on my cat's condition. Compassionate, efficient, gave clear options and advice to prioritize quality of life. Pricing extremely reasonable and clear. Thank you for the compassionate experience today and for making my pet's last hours as comfortable as possible. ♡

Super caring and compassionate staff. The Dr. that performed emergency surgery on our puppy was very thorough and informative and she did an amazing job fixing him up. We felt comfortable and in good hands here!

This was the first time we ever visited the emergency vet. Our dog was in bad shape with pneumonia and hospitalized. The staff were very caring and took us back within 1.5 hours. Our dog was in much better shape when we picked him up the next day. We even got a follow up from the staff a few days later. This was a scary situation for us, and we felt that our dog was well taken care of. Recommend!

We brought our cat in to be treated for plant poisoning, and when we brought her home we noticed she was having some issues that could only be tied to her visit here so we called, and spoke to Amber at the front desk who was very rude and dismissing of our concerns. She spoke with an attitude as if we wanted to be up late, calling about our potentially sick kitten as if she wasn’t a receptionist at an emergency vet hospital.

I just moved to Portland last night, my dogs were outside playing and Pluto ate something. It was dark and I didn't think anything of it. He likes to eat cat poop so I figured that's what he was doing. Well.... Long story short he started acting real weird he was walking with sea legs and bobbing his head. I took him in to be seen. The young lady at the desk was so incredibly kind and it was her words that kept me from crying. I wish I got her name so I could give her a shoutout. The triage vet nurse was so great as well at explaining things to me. She sat down to talk to me and had open body language. I felt the staff here were so great at therapeutic communication. They took Pluto back to be assessed in triage, they got his vitals, and allowed the doctor to do their assessment. Turns out, Pluto ate some marijuana outside. Of course I was thinking I sure hope that's what happened because I thought maybe he ingested a toxic plant or something. I'm about 15 hours out from his ingestion and he is improving. I'm glad I brought my puppy here. Pluto and I were treated so kindly. This hospital has a great team going.

They took such great care of my fur baby as she crossed the rainbow bridge. The entire staff was very sweet. The doctor was so very caring and gave us as much time as we needed to say good bye to our sweet sweet Gracie dog. Thank you so much for your care.

Friendly staff, love how knowledgeable they are. They are very effect and consist of many professional vet techs and doctors. I'd only recommend them over any other vet clinic in the area. Although they aren't the cheapest, they do the best work in order to get your animal back up to full health in no time.

Having to take an animal to the ER is always an emotional experience. I took my pup in for frequent regurgitation and not eating. We arrived and were greeted by a very patient and understanding reception team. They were very helpful and let me know the wait was about 2-3 hours possibly more if an emergency came through (this is a normal thing for any ER. Animals or people that come in with serious issues go first). Once we did get in a room the staff were attentive and honest with options for treatment. He was taken to the back and received the best care possible. They were always available for questions whenever I had them (even at the wee hours of the morning). The staff did their best with the knowledge they had at the time. Once we did figure out what was wrong, we got prompt care and thankfully, all turned out well in the end. We did have to pay a deposit for treatment before we left our pup there (a normal thing for a vet practice). The entire time I never felt that I was being taken advantage of or not properly cared for. Thank you all so much for your care.

Was there on Saturday January 6 with my Sheila. Think she had passed by the time we got there, but DrWillliams and Sam were so kind and compassionate that I was able to get through it, and was a mess. Recommended 100%

My beautiful boy fell off our balcony and was too injured to make it. The staff here was incredibly empathetic and professional when we had to make the hard choice of helping him across the rainbow bridge. I really appreciated the care and tenderness they showed us during the worst time of our lives together. Thank you so much.

Our cat was very sick and unfortunately it was necessary to be put to sleep. The entire staff was so kind and compassionate. We weren't rushed though anything, given full information and our cat was treated with dignity and love. If we are ever in need of emergency vet services in the future, we will be returning for sure.
