This is horrible insurance. Very long lead times to get a first appointment with PC and other services. No one I meet with ever seems to have read the chart or know any health history despite it being supposedly on their “My Chart”. I’ve had Regence Blue Cross the last few years and will definitely be switching back.

Zip code search engine has issues, does not show providers if you don’t have the exact zip code where the provider is located. I spoke to PHP two days ago because I was trying to find a provider for my son who lives in another state and is covered under my insurance. I was unable to pull up any covered providers using his zip code, so I called to get some help. The first person I spoke to told me there weren’t any. They sent me over to someone else who was able to use a nearby zip code and find a provider. Thanks to her care and thoughtfulness, I was able to get an in-network provider for my son. However, it’s another disadvantage with health care in the U.S.A.— even paying customers cannot find a provider when they want one and have to jump through hoops just to do so.

I would give them a 0 if I could. They’re HORRIBLE. They deny every single thing saying it’s not medically necessary and are making their patients suffer!! They lack knowledge of medical needs. They have HORRIBLE communication. You make navigating health care more challenging than it already is. Providence is cruel and corrupt.

The CPAP machine they gave me went bad in about 16 months. They have had it now for at least 3 plus weeks and they're telling me it's not going to be for another 4 to 6 weeks before I see it fixed. I called them about a loaner, they said they would call back, and they have not called back at all. This company does not engender all that much trust in their insurance or their ability to deliver the services they constantly talk about. I would be very leery of using them again and will most likely look for another firm in this coming year. One caveat is sad Oregon's taxes are driving insurance rates up along with a cost of just about everything else from Wheaties to gasoline to electrical power. The way Oregon is managed it is definitely not helping the medical system.

I keep getting emails from Providence Health claiming that, even though I've never done business with them, I owe them money. There is a scam going on that is trying to collect money for "past due invoices". Beware!

Good luck getting approval for any tests/imaging that will actually show what the problem is. They will only cover basic imaging, but when it comes to anything such as an MRI, they deem it "medically unnecessary" That is a very unnecessary restriction on people's right to healthcare and rather unethical. It also seems like a blanket response for they just don't want to deal with it! They want medication/physical therapy done first before they *may* consider covering such tests. Yeah okay... Treat the symptoms without knowing the cause. If they really cared about people, they would be willing to cover testing/ imaging to get to the underlying causes!!! Providence Health Plan, you really need to do better for people!! I thought this was a "Faith Based" company, and yet people get screwed over?!

DO NOT GET PROVIDENCE INSURANCE!If you develop a serious medical condition and you need a specialist out of state, they will refuse to cover you and condemn you to disability and DEATH! This is what they have done to me.I developed a rare condition and there are NO doctors in the PNW who can do the surgery I need, or anyone who has the imaging I need to locate the leak in my spinal cord. The closest doctor who can help me is at Cedars Sinai in California and providence has refused to let me see him even though both my neurologist and PCP have appealed their denial multiple times. I have totally lost my life, I’m completely bedridden. My children don’t have their mother anymore and my husband’s life revolves around taking care of me. Providence has given me a death sentence.

I've been dealing with Providence Medical Group and the Oregon Clinic, the only places I can go with Providence Health Plan, for TWO YEARS to get a diagnosis for a condition that makes life very difficult and uncomfortable. Not a single doctor or specialist has made any suggestion as to what the problem could be, which makes sense, since they barely listened to me and never followed up with me on any of the tests they referred me for. I've had to push things forward every step of the way, pestering clinics to follow up on test results and acting as an intermediary between Providence Health Plan, Providence Medical Group, and the Oregon Clinic, speaking with schedulers and billing specialists alike, in order to get them all on the same page.Recently I finally gave up and saw a specialist at a private practice who came up with a potential diagnosis that matches my symptoms and experiences perfectly IN THE FIRST 15 MINUTES OF THE APPOINTMENT. Great news, right? Except that the test I need to confirm the diagnosis is also the same test that is used to determine lactose intolerance, which Providence deems to be not medically necessary. So my test isn't covered, despite it being what I need to move forward with treatment (again, after TWO YEARS of suffering), because Providence not only doesn't give a hoot about your health, they actively want you to remain ill so this blatant scam can continue.F you, Providence. As an organization, whether by design, greed, or incompetence, you are decidedly evil.

I couldn't be more grateful for the customer service. Debra has gone above and beyond for us. We have been dealing with Onepeak's continuous errors and overcharging whenever possible. Luckily, I had the pleasure of talking to Debra, and she has been working non-stop on the claims that have been sent back for reprocessing. This is indeed an amazing team! These people work hard for us; we must thank them more often! Again, thank you so much!

Beware of Providence Health Plan. After switching to a health plan with another carrier, they were billed in error by my pharmacy even though I had updated my insurance. Providence erroneously paid the bill. They are now taking me to court over a year later for their mistake. Avoid this company at all costs.

This "Insurance company" is the worst I have ever dealt with, Been with providence for several years, Have paid for almost nothing, But now I need an MRI on my left shoulder, My Primary doctor had X Rays taken and says I need an MRI as it looks like I have severe Osteoarthritis , The doctor has sent 2 request to Providence and they have denied for not have 6 weeks or physical therapy first, My doctor says that may make it worse. They are doing anything to avoid coverage. Talk to your employers and go with something else. I am going to fight this!! I would give a zero stars If it was allowed. I pay over $850 a month for this !! So MAD I cant see straight!
