I took my Jeep to Mac's for an air-conditioning issue, suspecting a leak. I was referred to them by a friend who HIGHLY recommended them. After the first diagnostic, they assured me there was no leak, they performed routine maintenance, and charged me for refilling the refrigerant. The total for the repair/service was $714.43, which was not terrible. A week later, the same problem recurred, so I returned the car to them. Initially, they insisted there was no leak, and kept trying to convince me that I was wrong, and that the sound had to be something in the fan and that it was absolutely impossible it was a leak. About an hour after dropping off I got a call from them where they told me that after further inspection, they confirmed there was a massive leak, stating that half of the refrigerant had leaked out. They then quoted me an additional $3,100 for the repair, on top of the $714.43 I already paid. I requested a refund for the initial service, as they clearly missed the "massive leak," but the advisor refused refund, stating that they would only refund if I allowed them to fix the issue. Had they done the original diagnosis and told me that it would be $3800+ to do the repair, I never would have left my car with them.
I just got back from the shop to pick up my car, and the advisor offered to "split the difference" of the cost of the refrigerant. Stating that it would "be like $250 back," I refused it as I did not have the card on me. I am glad I refused because when I finally got back in my car there was only hot air coming from the AC on it's lowest setting. They had fully drained the refrigerant and did not recharge the system. I now am back to where I was prior to the original service, no cold air, and paid $714.43 for nothing. The AC was still kind of working this morning, and now I am out $714.43, all of my time, and with nothing to show for the time, effort and trust I put in at this shop. I would advise that you think twice before coming to Mac's Radiator in Beaverton. Classic bait and switch, with a walk all over you attitude, and zero accountability.

I can't express how thankful I am for the awesome people that work at this place.
My boyfriend, baby and I were trying to get our A/C unit fixed in our vehicle and ran into a leak problem when trying to get the A/C recharged at another shop. The shop recommended Mac's and we decided to stop in to see if they could help us identify the problem. They were super busy, all the bays were full and they still managed to take time out of their busy day to help us with our problem. Chris and the guy in the front office were both super helpful. With the help of these great folks we can now drive around stress free with our baby.
If you're looking for an honest and knowledgeable shop that provides excellent service this is the place to go.
If I ever need work done in the future, I will definitely be back. Thank you Mac's!

Expert repair of the cooling system in my Honda Pilot. Jim was easy to work with and built trust through his honest assessment. The repairs were done expeditiously and professionally. Very satisfied with the results. I'll go back to Mac's when I need any other work.

What I was told over the phone differed materially and in a misleading way from what I was told on arrival by Jim, the manager. Then, again what he told me after diagnosis differed materially and misled me from what the technician explained.
The difference was so great in both cases that it appeared he just made up an answer that would get my business. In my opinion the shop is not trustworthy.

These guys are amazing! Not kidding when I say if I could give more than 5 stars I would. First off their ability to know my Jeep and what would be the best to fix the issues were top notch. They were fast and accurate in the repairs for the amount of issues that were present. They worked with me and were courteous through the repair process. They beat a $10,000 repair cost the dealership quoted and I’m confident they did a better job at a better price. That’s what everyone is seeking. I have referred them to others. Mac’s has always done a remarkable job on my Jeep and I will continue to use them for future car repairs.

Mac's is great. They were great about getting my a/c fixed today when the problem wasn't obvious at first. And they took extra care to make sure the a/c was fixed when it didn't pass their initial QC inspection. The price is fair and the staff are friendly. Checks all the boxes!
