Called in ahead for a walkin and she was super nice on the phone. When I came in she greeted me with a smile. She's pretty blunt and will tell you what you really need to do with your hair ( I like this because she's really honest ). Though it might come rude for some people, she's honest and will tell you things that you need to do for your hair. Though she is blunt, she will give you tons of compliments. While I was getting my hair cut, she kept on telling me how straight my hair is, how pretty it is and how I was pretty. For the price ( it's 40 dollars for me ) it was a good haircut.I also asked her to cut a hair shorter and I said thank you and she responded that all she did is her job and she just wants her customers happy. She also asked if I want to keep my hair, since I had a super long hair. It's good for the price. And super friendly clerks. It's good but not super super good. Will I go back? Maybe but this won't be my first choice.Service: Haircut

I’ve been searching for a hair stylist for the last 3 years in the PDX metro area and I finally found my person! I absolutely adore going to this hidden gem of a salon! I have thick Asian hair and it’s hard to find someone who knows how to cut and style my hair while also keeping its volume, who is also not booked out months in advanced AND is reasonably priced. I’ve had my hair done with her 3 times now. I haven’t gone anywhere else and don’t plan on changing.

It's seems like some people ask for a couple of inches when they want an inch, so I'll say here, Kim is a five star salonist. Very accommodating and skilled, I've never left here unhappy or with a bad haircut, whether I ask for something specific or I just ask for a trim. I went to a very expensive haircut elsewhere that I was thrilled with, but lasted a week, before I needed to come back to Kim to get my hair cut as I like.

I typically always set an appointment to any hair salon that I go to, but today I felt the need to cut my hair and came in for a walk-in (call recommended though!) Kim was super nice and skilled. She cut my hair to what she thought best suited me and yet valued my opinions. I’ll be coming back again when I’m due for another haircut :D

This place is honestly the best kept secret, ever! Kim was friendly, efficient, and talented! She gave me an excellent consultation and it is obvious that she is skilled with 20+ years of experience in cutting hair. I had a specific idea of what I wanted for a haircut, and Kim was able to create the exact look that I wanted! We had a great conversation about hair health and she gave me great tips about keeping my hair healthy and shiny. I was in and out in 30 minutes, while paying only 1/3 of what a typical women's hair cut would cost!! Overall, I was very impressed. If you are looking for a lengthy hair cut with a wash, blow out, and the bells&whistles, this may not be the place for you. But, if you are looking for a clean, locally owned place with Asian aunties that are skilled and efficient, then please check out Kim's! She is amazing!

The most relaxing haircut I’ve ever had. My stylist which I believe was Kim (the owner) she was amazing, such good conversation and cut my hair so nice. I would have paid $70 for my haircut but it was $19!!!

I've been here three times now. Everytime, Kim was the stylist who colored and cut my hair. I have never left here feeling upset, angry, or disappointed. It's the only place I can call and get same day service or next day service. Most other places are booked a month or more out. (Good or bad thing, you decide) I like to think of this place as a hidden gem or a really good kept secret. All three times I've wanted to lighten my hair from light brown to super light, almost platinum blonde. One visit, she gets it done. Little to no damage to my hair. So either I'm really lucky or she's really good at her job lol. I was nervous at first bc I was used to very high end salons in Beverly Hills, CA and this place is small and she may ask u to brush ur own hair lol, but overall, especially for the price you pay, and that's not to say u get what u pay for, I'm saying that you get more than what u pay for here. The price is just an added bonus, I feel comfortable recommending this salon to any woman looking to clean-up, touch-up, or completely change their look. There is a small language barrier, so be very specific of what you want. I've never asked for anything technically crazy, like a Bayalage or ombre, so I can't speak on that. As far as cut, she's never taken off more than I asked. Every single place I've ever been to has taken off so much more length than I wanted. My sister didn't have the same experience here in regard to cutting length off, so I cannot stress enough that YOU HAVE TO BE VERY SPECIFIC. Don't say a couple inches, say one inch. Or half inch. Specifically say, do not cut more than one inch or so on and so forth. I feel like most stylists are going to take off all of or as much of the damaged hair as they can if you're not specific and say I don't care if its damaged ? anyway... It may not be top of the line, but I always leave happy and end up getting TONS of compliments on my hair!Services: Highlights

Not sure which stylist the bad comment is referring to, but Kim is super knowledgeable at her job. I don’t often post photos but I feel the need here - the comments aren’t doing Kim justice.I walked in asking whether I can have my hair cut that day (a very busy Saturday) and she managed to make time for me at a later time that day, even extended her usual business hour for me. She’s super friendly and has about 20 years experience as a hair dresser in the US, and the best part is she definitely knows how to deal with thick coarse Asian hair. I walked out with silky hair at exactly the style and length I asked for.She does take walk-ins, but I recommend calling her to make an appointment before you go, because she has a lot repeat customers. (A good sign you want to see for your hair dresser)The salon is bright, clean and pretty spacious. I will definitely come back.(There’s no need to call someone “mean”just because non-native speakers might sound a bit blunt sometimes when they try to give suggestions, there’s no way this kind lady Kim would ever try to offend her customer on purpose. Leaving one star review for small businesses struggling during the pandemic, especially when they’re good at their job - that’s what I would call “mean”. Come on, be human!)

My family member got a haircut today from Kim’s. Kim does not pay attention to client’s needs. She instead says things like “I can’t do ___ because it will look bad.” Kim should stay in her place and listen to what people want for their hair - nice advice is always appreciated but her remarks were mean. She also continued to insult my family member by telling her she should comb her hair three times a day and use a different shampoo so her hair won’t be as thick. That is no way to treat a customer! Will not be coming back.Service: Hair styling
