I love that Farmington Gardens is still a family owned full-service garden center who grow most of their plants right at the nursery. The knowledgeable staff are happy to answer any question -no matter how dumb- and help you find exactly what you need for your own garden. If you are in need of some inspiration, take a walk through the display gardens. Sit down on one of the benches and soak in the fresh air, colors and varieties of plants and imagine them in your own garden. If still unsure, talk to one of the landscape team members to help you actualize your vision. The garden center has everything you need for a successful garden experience. Spring edibles, Summer edibles, Fall vegetables, fruit trees, and perennials. There is now a new digitized Information Center where you can very easily access, download, and print helpful and informational plant and tree care PDF guides from home. At various times of the year Farmington Gardens holds special classes and events. My favorite is the Holiday Open House held in November. Explore all the new merchandise displays while enjoying live music and complimentary refreshments. It's free and is pretty popular. In December there's the Holiday Market to look forward to with over 50 vendors, standing ready to share their hand-crafted wares. There's also "Meet Santa" and "Storytime with Santa" for the kiddlings. Farmington Gardens has been around for 25 years so they must be doing something right!!!

My first time was yesterday, and I went back again today! Three trailers of stuff! Robert was such an amazing help! I had a plant list, and he knew right where everything was! His knowledge of everything was amazing! The variety, great prices, check out, and assistance loading. Was all a great experience at the Beaverton Location. Side note: The Hillsboro location appears to be pretty small.

I had a difficult time rating Farmington because the product and customer service has been ALL over the place. Ive shopped here for more than 10 years. Its not close by so I have a long drive to get there. 2 years ago I was looking for a certain kind of yellow rose. I understood that it was late in the season, and most places had nothing left in this type of rose. But I thought I would give it a shot. I called Farmington and they told me they had this rose and asked me how many I needed. I told them 3. Miracle! They had three left. I took them home, and even though they didnt look quite the kind they said they were, I planted them. Come spring, not only were they not the kind of roses I discussed, they werent even yellow. Or course by that time, no refund or return was possible. Needless to say, I dont buy anything that I cant see in bloom now. Someone had to have switched out the plastic tags so this wasnt an accident. Sometimes I come in and they are helpful. One gentleman this summer spent a great deal of time on some bushes I was interested in (I was having the whole back yard redone) and I was very impressed. But one of the bushes, he apparently didn't know much about its care and the bush didnt make it. It died almost immediately despite me following his instructions. Ive later learned its a temperamental plant. I had to have it dug up and transported back which was difficult and messy but Farmington did take it back and that item alone was about $150.00. I did have the receipt. I did call about the bush issue (before I took it back) and it took quite a long time to get someone to call me back (2 weeks of repeated calls) then when I did get someone they were very helpful and asked me to send pics of the bush I was having problems with and then they never called me back after that.. and I never got anyone else to help me. It is so hit or miss. So I guess what I would ultimately say is that some people there are very kind and helpful..but others aren't, so take your patience with you. Always make sure you get the color you want and don't take their word for it or the trust the tag displayed. (I've had this happen on more than one occasion so I feel justified in saying this). (Could this be the supplier's issue and not Farmingtons? In fairness, maybe?) I went back this year and did get the roses I wanted in the color I wanted and gave the other three away. The new bush is growing beautifully.

Farmington Gardens' customer service was a big failure today! Two days ago, I bought a house plant (Euphorbia Platyclada--Dead Plant) because of its unique appearance. After two days, I researched its care online and learned that this plant is highly toxic to humans and animals. Its sap causes significant burning of the skin, can leave you temporarily or permanently blind, and can be fatal if swallowed. And yet I was given no warning of this when I spoke with the cashier upon purchase. When I returned it today, she told me that "almost everybody" knows these plants are toxic. Really??? Not true! Her associate joined our conversation and with noticeable attitude said "well, we're taking it back" as if that should suffice. In fact, that was insulting. This plant sat on my counter and posed a danger to children, adults and my cat who might have touched it. I suggested that at the very least, FG should place signs near toxic plants to warn customers to research them before taking them home. The cashier stated that they have toxic plants throughout their entire nursery. Oh, great! Though I've been a Farmington Gardens customer for decades, I will not be going back. And instead of making sales at any cost, I suggest they change some policies to keep their customers informed and safe.

A fun, huge, well organized, and marked garden store with regular and unusual varietals, pots, garden decor, statues, bark and compost by the bag and truck load. Worth the drive!

Really pleasant nursery. Lots of gorgeous peonies and dahlia. I appreciated the native plants section. Also has a very access friendly restroom and spacious rows between most areas. As usual, I found too much I wanted, rather than not enough! Service was friendly and the layout is well organized.

This is very close to my home and my preferred business when it comes to my backyard plants. They are very organized when it comes types of plants that are to go with shades, full sun, etc. They are also affordable.

This was my first visit to Farmington Gardens in about 15 years. I remember that trip being pretty overwhelming, as we were 1st time homeowners, trying to figure out what to do with our yard. Now, 15 years later, we've moved into our 2nd home, have learned a LOT about growing through trial and error and are in the process of landscaping our new yard. WOW - what a difference 15 years makes! Farmington Gardens was an absolute wonderland of amazingness! Between the massive selection of pottery & yard art, the beautiful landscaped mini-nature walk and incredible variety of plants, I was blown away! I spent almost 2 hours taking it all in with my mom, who, as a former nursery-worker, was equally impressed. I ended up with a very healthy hydrangea and a gorgeous ranunculus. I can't recommend Farmington Gardens enough and can't wait for my next visit!

I stop by here often as I can to see what they have to offer. They generally have a nice selection of plants and most are pretty healthy looking. The staff is not very helpful- that is, IF you can find anyone to help you. At other nurseries, there is staff walking around and engaging with you to see if you need help but not here, at least not in my experience for the numerous times I've been. The few times I found someone I was told to go ask someone at the information desk and when I did, they weren't very helpful and almost seemed like I had to pull teeth to get them to engage. At other places, the staff are pretty passionate about the plants, etc but I don't really get that vibe with many here. I really wish they would have an inventory list available online that gets update once a month at least so we can check out what they have without having to go in all the time. Other nurseries have this available (some even have weekly updated inventory lists or real time updated stock online) and they also allow you to be notified by email if an item that is out of stock comes back into stock. This is a nice feature since if you try to call or email them here about items, they aren't thrilled about checking for you and keep telling you to check back in person so I'd rather not keep bothering them but I don't want to have to run over there every day to see if items I am waiting for come back in stock. So although this nursery is one that is closest to me, I find myself often driving a lot further to go get plants since I know they will be in stock when I get there and where staff is friendlier and more helpful. ETA: I see the response from the company and they are mistaken- my experience with no one being friendly or available to help has happened on multiple occasions, not just one day so has nothing to do with one day many people being out due to being sick (I never mentioned days so it was odd they assumed it was one day when people were out sick??). Also, I have emailed and asked about availability of plants numerous times and have gotten responses like "keep checking back in person" or "we don't know when we might get them in" or even that they haven't carried a certain type in "several years" when I actually bought some from them only a few months back! It is odd a company doesn't know what they order and a general time frame of when it will be shipped. That is okay though- other nurseries are very helpful in letting me know when items I'm looking for are back in stock or ordering them so I just purchase from the other nurseries instead.

Any kind of plants and flowers you wish to have, there's a good chance you'll find them here. The price is in the upper tier, but one might argue that those healthy plants are well worth it. The check out lady was so kind to point out that there's 10% discount for senior citizen like us. She's cheerful and friendly. That kind of service no doubt will bring us back from time to time.

Has a wide variety of plants, even the white on white rose of sharon that I was hunting down. Staff are very helpful and happy to answer questions. There's also a nice garden you can chill out in. It can get busy, so you might have to circle for parking, but they have staff that help direct traffic. The checkout line can get really long.
