Unfortunately the Sunset is a bit dated for the price they are charging. walking to the beach is a bit of a hike. Steep going up and back and normal stairway was damaged so had to use an alternate when you stay at the main lodging Area.
Walkability: As noted getting to and from Beach is a bit of a challenge.

A great place to stay for any age, with or without children. We lo ed the views and the easy access to the beach.
Nearby activities: We did the Sea Lion Caves in Florence and did San Dunes in Reedsport. Also enjoyed tidepools, nearby park, and the local restaurants.

The really stink room we entered. After 2 hrs opening door and window, still very bad, unbearable, we have to go office to ask for the change.

Kinda weird to have a full length sliding glass door to enter and pass bye others. I could get used to it. Lovingly cared for as an aging relic.

Room 187 had a stinky smell. Our neighbors said their room didn't smell. I hope they actually use the pet deposit to Shampoo the carpets. Why even have carpet in a pet room baffles me? Great location, beautiful view, and roomy with a fireplace. We needed to buy this candle to deal with the smell. The continental breakfast was disappointing. Why not serve becan, sausage, and eggs after charging a fortune...

Well, words “rustic” and “vintage” come to mind. The place hasn’t been renovated since the 80s and it shows. The breakfast is a little more than a quick bite. The room layout is odd, because your door is also your only window - being pantsless is not really an option. The view is nice, granted, but the place needs a facelift.

Judge for yourself, the place is old, dirty, the bathroom had fungus, it didn't have a microwave, the windows had too much dust, the bed too. The only nice thing was the view of the sea.

I had a great experience here which made our trip to Bandon very enjoyable. The check in staff was very friendly. The room had a great view. It looked like not all rooms have good views, so its worth making sure when you book you get a good one.

Been vacationing in Oregon for a week and out of the 3 hotels stayed at this one was my favorite! We stayed in the Oceanfront Duplex (417) with our dog and could not have been happier. If I would have known how awesome this town was and this hotel is I would have stayed here the whole week! Yes, the room is outdated. But the pine ceiling and brick fireplace brings this rustic vibe… it’s like having a cabin over looking the ocean. And the beds have been the most comfortable out of the other hotels too! Lastly, check in and check out was an absolute breeze. We had the pleasure of meeting Sam, who I just wanted to go hang out with the rest of the trip. He was a very knowledgeable super cool cat running the front desk, and not only did he give us info for our room, he also gave us local info like where to get the best fudge. Thanks for being so welcoming Sam, you made my birthday!!

Rooms are small and outdated but clean. The veiw from the room is amazing and well worth it. The only down is if your binds are open to enjoy the view, everyone can look in on you.

This place was okay. I was here solo for one night and it didn’t feel the safest. I arrived at night which probably didn’t help. The front desk people were very nice and had no issues there. The rooms were just very outdated and motel style. And the door to the rooms were glass sliders… I probably wouldn’t recommend to someone who was traveling solo.
