Location was good. Decor was cute BUT-Breakfast was not breakfast. Coffee and pre-wrapped muffins and bananas.Showers-If you are taller than 5 feet its a nightmare. Low shower head, low water pressure.Beds- very uncomfortable and bumpy. One side sunk in.-Noise- walls and ceilings are paper thin. Can hear everything and we happen to have neighbors that were up all night. We Asked to be moved and were told no, not, unless we paid extra. The motel was not even full.Electrical- fire hazards throughout room. When asked to move rooms away from the noisy area, again was told no even though they weren’t full.

This is a 5 star, cheap (affordable) motel. It was just what I needed on a whim trip to the coast where I found a small, historically rich community while traveling alone without my wife and kids. I just had to stay another day to experience more and didn’t want to spend the $300+ I would have spent for my family. When I read the reviews of people bitching and moaning as if a very cheap (affordable) motel they stay in should be a 5 star luxurious hotel, it makes me laugh. If you really want luxury then a $70 room isn’t going to surprise you my, friend. GTFO! The motel is absurdly clean for a $70 room. Yes, I can hear the traffic (mostly because of the rail water) because I’m sure the kind folks who built it in the god knows what decade it was built didn’t anticipate the 35MPH modern cars and traffic volume of the future when they designed it. I recently achieved 50 years old and this motel is nostalgic. It reminds of my youth when I had nothing and couldn’t afford the finer things in life. The days when me and my Navy buddies scrapped up enough to stay off base and watched Pulp Fiction for the first time. If you’re the type to trash Starbucks for that one bad coffee contraption that wasn’t oh just so perfect then please find another place to stay. But, don’t stay here and write a review dunking on the people that are running the best dive motel I’ve ever seen. Cheers! I have three more Voodoo rangers I can drink without judgement!Nearby activities: So much to see and do… even in the rain!

Breakfast is limited and it starts at 9am. You get fruits, muffins and coffee or teas. Thats about it. Overall is just basic place to stay if you plan to be out and about all day.

A 1960's motel that totally embraces the 60's vibe. The rooms are very clean. Property is well maintained. The staff are great, friendly and accommodating. I have stayed here many times when business brings me to the coast. Last visit I had a noisy neighbor, I mentioned it to the office and they apologized and offered a new room. There are restaurants, pubs, and quicky marts within walking distance. My go to place when in Astoria!Rooms: Small by todays standards, but very clean and I love the 1960's decor.Safety: I like the coded electronic door locks. Parking lot is well lit, although it only accomodates about 20 vehicles. Overflow overnight parking can use the pancake house parking.Walkability: Food: Pig N Pancake literally next door, Chinese, Mexican, burgers, pubs all a short stroll away.

PROS: Good breakfast, coffee. Cute decor.CONS: They added cute stuff, but the place needs updating. Cute decor doesn't make up for worn carpet and surfaces. Loud being so close to the bridge, and lots of kids running around. Also, they are the first place I've stayed with my dog that charged a pet fee for an emotional support animal. We travel ALL OVER the world together. The Motel 6 across the road is cleaner, quieter, more updated, and more welcoming.

Great spot for a quick stay. Adorable rooms and was perfect for our last minute booking while attending a wedding. Made me wish I owned a dog since they are very dog-friendly! Thanks again for having us!Walkability: We were also happy to see that we were able to walk to every place we needed to be.

Not recommended , bed was uncomfortable, poor lighting, no breakfast as quoted , just coffee and muffin . People standing outside of door smoking , instead of walking on other side. Awful parking, not friendly front desk. Price too high .

We checked around 6:30 pm on Friday and first room we were given was not fully cleaned. None of the sticky surfaces had been wiped down and there was used dental floss on one of the nightstands. There was a bottle of mike's hard in the sink and and empty can by the door. The front desk person was very accommodating and moved us to another room. Unfortunately the new room smelled very strongly of fried fish. The staff had set up an ozone generator but it really didn't make much if a difference.I'd really recommend looking elsewhere if you're visiting Astoria. The front desk person was kind but it seems like they do a bare minimum when turning rooms. I did not get the impression that any of the money from the inflated room rates are going towards housekeeping. I really regret spending my money at the Atomic Motel last weekend.

Stayed here two nights. Best described as shabby and old dressed up to be a funky motel. Clean enough, but poor bedding, pillows, poor lighting in bathroom area (I luckily had a hand-held mirror and used the window light to apply makeup). We were on the ground floor and there were no shears in the window, so it was either be in a dark room with poor lighting or open the black-out curtains and have no privacy. Not a great area but walkable to the shopping/entertainment district. Rusty chipped bathtub. Not great choices for the 'continental' breakfast (dried up chocolate chip muffins, apples and oranges - that was it). Price wise, way overpriced for the place. Friendly and helpful staff though, so that was a plus.

This motel is very gross. Avoid at all costs unless you like staying in dingy rooms with trashy furniture, springy beds, 4 ft tall shower heads, toilet seats that don’t match the shape of the bowl, smokers allowed to smoke right outside your window without ac you’re likely to have your windows open letting in their smoke, or people digging through the trash cans at 4:00 am also outside your window looking for cans to recycle. You will regret staying here.

Totally Retro, including old-fashioned friendliness, everything you need and nothing you don’t. The kind of place you end up meeting and visiting with fellow travelers if the weather’s nice (it was beautiful for an entire week) and getting to know the excellent staff, or if you want privacy, put out the do not disturb plaque. This isn’t a luxurious stay, but box fans and wall heaters keep the traditionally-sized rooms comfy. The Atomic Motel offers a reasonably priced, cute as a button, and downright fun stay.

The service was friendly and welcoming. I loved the retro look all the way down to the microwave. Great place to spend a night or two while on the road. Only downside was most places to eat are closed by 9, that was tough on the kids.

Our colorful, fun room was clean and fresh. Good bed, bedding, towels and shower. It's walkable to lots of good spots for food and drinks, though at the edge of the lively part of town. A very friendly place in an interesting town (check out the Maritime Museum -- it's fantastic).
