“I have been using Sherwood Auto Repair for the last 16 years or so. They have worked on numerous vehicles for me and my friends and a few neighbors. I don't know anyone that was not satisfied with their work ...for a number of good reasons. Foremost is their honesty. They do their best to determine what is wrong and tell you what they can do to fix it. They don't "upsell". They don't recommend work, parts, or services to fatten the bill. Which means they are usually less expensive then a dealer. In the most extreme case for me ...dealer said my Toyota pickup needed a new engine for $tousands but Sherwood got me running again for $400 in repairs. That was 14 years ago and the pickup is still running. They are a small "family" type shop but have high-skill, certified, mechanics and trustworthy pricing. For me, they are to auto-repair what Les Schwab is to tires. Friendly, high skill, trustworthy, resonable in price. You can't do better than that.”
“Best oil change place I've ever been to. We try to go when we're in the area. I think I've been going there for about 20 years now. Recently they let me know about a power steering leak that was causing a problem. The thing I like best is their "no pressure" approach to offering their services.”

“The folks here couldn't be more helpful, I've had my vehicle in once for replacement cat. converter and a second time when the car was wearing out.On the Cat replacement they came in under quote and quicker than expected, and fixed a few small things that I didn't even as them to look at.When the car had reached its end of life, I had it towed there after a major mechanical issue, they diagnosed the problem and allowed me to store it on lot til I could get it towed to disposal.100% my mechanic for the future, they should be yours too.”
“Accurate Auto of Tigard performed a thorough and quick diagnostic, identified the issues, and performed the repairs within a day. As a comparison, I took my vehicle to a competitor 4 times, complaining of blue smoke from tailpipe and chugging motion, and they could not identify any issue (it was the spark plugs, which should have been something obvious to check). “This shop was recommended by a coworker as a fair and reasonable shop that does good work. The engine on my 2012 Subaru blew a rod. The shop initially said it was not likely worth replacing. Rob looked into it further. Found a few options. Provided a detailed invoice and answered a lot of questions. The shop was not only efficient and timely in replacing the engine but I felt they were honest and fair. The mechanic that worked on the car shared his thoughts and concerns on pick up and a couple days later helped us with a belt that was acting up. “I live in Los Angeles however my son lives in Oregon and I had an idea of what was going on with my sons 2017 chevy silverado truck. My dilemma was finding a good mechanic that was honest and reliable. After a few phone calls I called Dan's Auto Center and Thomas answered the phone. Not only was he understanding about our financial situation and time factor but he went through his Ideas and understanding of what was possibly going on. I have two older Mercedes that I work on myself and know that car maintenance is crucial. I arranged for my son to bring the truck to him. He called the next day as promised and had given me his assessment and I gave him the go ahead. I can't put into words about the confidence and feeling of security that the job was going to be taken care of properly. These guys were more than fair and had the car done the next day earlier than promised. One of the most important things to me is honesty and accuracy. We now have a mechanic for life. “My daughter bought a car from a less-than-honest dealer—her first time. Live and learn, right? Needless to say, the 2011 Subaru turned out to be a cluster of issues. We took it to our longtime mechanics, trusting they would advise us on what needed fixing to ensure safety. They addressed a couple of significant issues, but alignment wasn't their specialty. So, I had to find someone else for that, and Discount Auto recommended Henderson's Auto in Tigard.
When Henderson's called, they informed us that while the back end had been fixed, they couldn't properly align it because the front end was cracked and torn—a concern I had raised with the previous shop, which dismissed it. Additionally, they noted that the battery we had installed was wrong for the car. The previous shop notified me, but, said it was working fine. Henderson's pointed out that the terminals were on the wrong side and rubbing against the fender, posing a fire hazard. Though it wasn't what I wanted to hear, it was the right thing to say and the safe recommendation to make. I truly appreciate their straightforward approach and the thorough explanation behind their recommendations. This is how business is done, we will be going back. Thanks to Brian, Doug, and everyone at the shop!”
