Food and Service great but do not like the 2 hrs limit when spending lots of $$$ I want to sit and chat with my group and enjoy a good bottle of wine and company!
Rush in rush out
I love to support local but this is a disappointment when willing to spend $$ and enjoy the night. If not spending $$ then 100% agree with not occupying a table.

Agi is pretty much the only contender for decent fine dining in Stouffville. I live five minutes away and have been twice, and will go again. That being said I probably would not drive out of my way if I lived in Markham or further south.
I’ve had the calamari, Brussels sprouts, mussels, ahi tuna, whole sea bass, and seafood linguine. Nothing revolutionary in terms of flavour combinations, but good solid cooking. I’m not trying to damn by faint praise - there are very few fine dining establishments I would make a point of visiting in Toronto these days.
The service is wonderful and the decor lovely, although it is small and does get very loud during full occupancy, so much so that I would avoid going on the weekend. It was much more enjoyable on the Wednesday night when there were only a few other diners.
If you live in Stouffville I would highly suggest giving this restaurant a try.
Update: I went back recently and had a different selection of dishes, all of which I enjoyed more than the ones I had had at the time of the original review. Increased the rating to 5 stars. Judicious ordering is always necessary to have the best experience at a restaurant. This time I had the deep fried goats cheese which was honestly a stand out dish. The elements of the crispy goats cheese, finely sliced, crisp apple, walnut and sauce quantity created a synergistic effect. My boyfriend had the rack of lamb, which was delicious, but the stand out item on the plate was actually the potatoes! Perfectly crisp skin completely surrounded a velvety, almost mashed-consistency mini-potato. I had the octopus special, which was also quite exceptional.

Love this local spot. I’ve been back a few times and enjoyed some delicious meals and cocktails. The lamb is fantastic. I just wish they would change their menu. It’s been the same for years. Will probably go back when there are some new options.

The reviews are right, AGI is absolutely an amazing dining experience. We were incidentally greeted at the door by a server delivering a drink. Impromptu he took our martini order, which was delivered as we were seated. Without reservations at 7pm on a summer Saturday, we were fortunate to be offered a table. The tiny restaurant was packed.
We enjoyed warm olives, the fried goat cheese, PEI oysters, mushroom gnocchi and the seared ahi tuna. The Brunello was on point for this indulgent meal. We had to take the desserts of poached pear and chocolate cake home to eat fireside.
Apparently the “chef owner” came from years of experience at Fishbone, which is the the place to eat on the lake. Watch out Fishbone, if diners elect to take the 12 minute drive into the adorable Main Street, AGI is equal or possibly superior.

Rarely do this but first I’ll start off with the service. Waiting staff super friendly and most importantly accommodating for a family with a toddler, waiter made it a point to keep daughter entertained and definitely succeeded at that. Now for the food, me and my wife haven’t been wowed in a long time but the food we had tonight, absolutely amazing, mussels with the coconut curry to the gnocchi, absolutely perfect! 10/10.

A last minute dinner out led us to Agi and we were pleasantly surprised. The experience was excellent from start to finish and everything in between.
We were politely greeted and the servers were outstanding.
We started with the sauteed tiger shrimp, which was perfectly cooked and served with a slice of grilled bread in a sauce that had a subtle spice.
Our main course was the spanish rice and whole sea bass. The spanish rice dish had an impressive amount of delcious seafood. The sea bass which was one of the evening's specials was fresh and grilled to perfection.
An overall exceptional experience!

All I can say is WOW! This restaurant exceeded my expectations! Every food item delivered to our table was 10/10 - you can tell the chef really cares about every single dish put out. The service was also top notch - kudos to the gentleman who served us this evening (Monday, Aug 20). We will certainly be back and rave about this place!!

Service and location was great. Nice decor and great for dining in a cool, small town vibe. Food was nothing to write home about. I dont think the flavors blended well, the tacos were bland (steak and fish). It was OK as in you could probably make it at home. Maybe the other dishes were great that i didnt try.

What a FANTASTIC restaurant that graces the Main Street Village of Stouffville. The ambiance is beautiful, the food is absolutely amazing and service is top notch. We had the lamb that was cooked to perfection and the Cod with chowder was delicious. Our server Blair was extremely friendly, very prompt and elevated the whole experience. The young man that greeted us and helped through the service was kind and personable. The whole experience was extraordinary. I highly recommend AGI Kitchen. Thank you for the memorable evening and looking forward to returning soon.

The good part, the food is good. But, from the moment we arrived we were rushed to order, from drinks to meals to desert we were reminded that our time was limited. At the end we didn’t have time for desert and we had to pay the bill and finish our wine outside. Terrible stress and rush to get out. Won’t be back, the total experience was poor.
