To be honest, I am starting to find prices going up at this store to the point that, they are as costly as stores I was trying to get away from.
Food Basics market themselves as a discount grocery store chain.
In the past the prices for most products, excluding meat for the most part were very reasonable. This is when interest rates were higher.
Now that rates are lowering, Food Basics prices are going up. Hmmm.....
If it continues and there is no added value for shopping here, I will return to where I used to go, because then the prices won't be much different.

In and out quickly - great staff and service. Self-serve machines were installed which reduced staff. Better prices than Zehrs

April 27, 2024. At around 8-8:30AM, in the bread/cake section, an older lady wearing glasses who was working there was clearly sick. She was coughing and sneezing multiple times. She didn't make an effort to cover up at all (she was stocking food), meaning she was expelling whatever it is she has into the air, and onto the food she was handling.She should have stayed home, or wear a mask so she doesn't spread her sickness to others.Disgusting.

Food Basics is the best place for groceries. It provides fresh products at a significantly lower cost than the majority of other grocery stores. Also, everything you're looking for can be found conveniently. It will always be my favorite go to store!!
