I am writing to express my deep disappointment and concern regarding an incident that took place at your Trenton location on [date of visit]. I visited the store to return an item I purchased a few weeks ago. When I approached the returns desk, the staff member who assisted me opened the item to verify that it hadn’t been used. However, after opening it herself, she accused me of having opened it previously.
When I tried to explain that I hadn’t opened the item, the staff member’s response was disrespectful and dismissive. She seemed agitated and acted in a manner that made me feel devalued and targeted. I believe her behavior was unprofessional and discriminatory, and it made me feel unwelcome and marginalized. As someone who struggles with anxiety, this encounter was particularly distressing for me.
I have always respected Canadian Tire for its customer service, but this experience has made me question that. I hope this matter can be investigated and addressed promptly to ensure that no other customer faces such treatment in the future.

I have never been so disrespected in 20 years living in Canada. Went to the store to have an oil change. All good. The service was great. But I had my work laptop to work while waiting, and when done, put it in my backpack, paid, and headed to the store to purchase a few items I needed.
That is when it happened. When I was almost where I needed to shop, an employee stopped me, saying I could not have my backpack with me. Told me I had to leave it at the customer service.
At that point, I chose to leave the store and not complete my purchases.
I had to work anyway, but I should have confronted the AH. I complied and left the store.
She profiled me as I was on comfortable clothes (as I always do).
No person deserves this kind of prejudice. It does not matter if my credit rating is on high 800s or the amount I have spent on the store this year. She really implied I was there to shoplift. It means she is doing this with others who also do not deserve being profiled.
Next time this happens to me, I will call the police. If someone is accusing me of stealing, we should as well get the authorities involved.
And don't reply mentioning any "policy" excuse as most women enter stores with bags bigger than my backpack. And no, I will not leave my work computer containing intellectual property belonging to my employer unattended at any store customer service.

This is the worst auto shop in the world.
I was told don't go to Canadian Tire they will over charge because they can and they do
beware.
Also there roadside assistance do not buy do not I was with another company for 20 years fantastic I was sold on coming here and I hate both.My car was vandalized while waiting to get picked up
