I've been trying to like this place for years since the former owner was chill. They occasionally have some great deals on second hand wargame stuff. The MTG side is a disaster, here's just a few fun memories of this place
- Pre-ordering a Dominaria box for a draft event I had planned, only to have it unavailable the day of release. Despite the staff physically opening boosters from one on the counter as we spoke.
- Ordering cards through their email with no response, only to find out I didn't send the list in a specific format. Set codes are confusing for them. i.e. BRO, M12 etc. (please put these instructions on your business cards you give out to people)
- Higher prices on singles despite "price matching" Face2Face or Card Kingdom
- Missing store credit on cards I've sold to them in the past. It seems like 6 months is the expiry here.
Honestly it's been 5 or 6 years now with a largely negative experience. Just go to Face 2 Face. It's worth the trip.

Excellent little store for minis boardgames and ttrpgs. They have a really good selection for the size of the store.
This is a must for the ttrpg collectors, as they have boxes of vintage books and magazines.
The staff is also friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable

Giving this place a 3 star since I've had some mixed experiences and wanted to be fair to their benefits rather than strictly focussing on some negative experiences.
The stock has been generally great and depending on who you get at the store that day, I've had great shopping experiences too. One in particular helped me find all the paints I needed and equipment to get the scheme I wanted which I think is above and beyond the required customer service. Ordering in has mostly been OK when I've needed something not in stock. I've been able to get most of what I need to do the hobbies I play (D&D, board games, 40K) and have sung their praises to others so I'd say more positive than negative experience wise.
But I will say similar to previous reviews, joining their community is a tough nut to crack. Questions like when stock will come in often gets replied with "whenever we get it in" or some sighs or derision when checking out like it was inconvenient to buy. I mean I've got a pretty intimate knowledge of retail so I get it when you're tired, maybe had inventory the previous day or something... There's just some customer polish needed here, it's an easy fix so hopefully they do.
I'd say overall, S&B is a good hobby shop, but there are some consistency issues, and I do think they can be a tad protectionist which can feel unwelcoming to newcomers. I do believe these are addressable concerns though, so I won't say "don't come here!" since they may correct these things going forward. Just some things need tightening up in a series of hobbies that are mostly community driven.

I’ve visited 30-40 game stores across North America in the last 2+ months traveling in an RV, and this shop is the one I felt most uncomfortable and unwelcome in… The staff were somewhat polite on the surface, but their side discussion between themselves (that were easily loud enough to hear) were snarky comments about things I asked to see or asked for prices on. When I was looking at items they hovered over me as if I was about to pocketed everything I touched, so I gave up looking after only a few minutes because it felt like I was a criminal on suicide watch (which is such a *great* shopping experience). When I asked if there were any items on sale or discounts for multiple purchases the response was along the lines of “there are only a few days a year we have sales, and this isn’t one of them” in a way that insinuated I was a fool for asking. Sad, because they had many items I was interested in…

Very unwelcoming atmosphere and bad customer service. Went here to support a business in my neighbourhood, but I am happy to travel farther to avoid this place.

Great little shop, especially for more niche/older TTRPGs. The used bins are *amazing* and I found some super hard to find books. The pricing can be a touch high for some things, but not out of the realm of reasonable considering the likelihood of finding these things, especially locally. The staff on the day I came in were both amazing and happy to show me products/discuss - very welcoming to myself and my friends. Will definitely be coming by should I have time next time in Toronto.

I actively tell others in the MTG community to avoid this place.
Had one of the employees think it was a bright idea to upcharge on a specific MTG card that was 50 dollars online (Mycosynth Lattice), to 100 dollars. Their answer was "If you can't find it in the city its 100 dollars here". The talk about 'price matching" is BS. They took over the "Duelling Grounds" (which also had is slew of issues), and were even worse. I had stopped playing because the original staff rigged tournaments/cheated during prereleases and it looks like the new "owners" take after that.
They actively tried to scam me for others cards as well, saying because it was sold out on FaceToFace we didn't know what the price was so they could charge whatever. Meanwhile other online vendors had it even cheaper which were in the city and had online orders. I stopped going there after that. Nothing of condescending jerks who have zero care for customer experience.
More surprised seeing this place still around after COVID considering they do a lot of shady things with tournaments and the staff cheats customers or outright scams them on products.
