The take out lunch and other meats are fantastic!! Worth the price for the quality. The 3 stars is for the service. Person behind the counter made us feel like we were a nuisance even though we were the only people in the store spending money. Improve the customer experience and it’ll be a great spot.

I have been going to the Meat Dept. for many years now ever since I first went to their Danforth location. Yes there are a few butchers close to where I live, but I always go back to the MD. From the rock and roll always playing, to the friendly staff, it has never let us down. Also, the meat is top quality and seems on par with what it should cost for what you get. The kids have grown up with me going to MD and always know to look for the circle sign with the cleaver on it when on Roncy. We did our annual steak dinner for NYD and the steak was excellent as always. Thanks MD.

The “daily hot sandwiches” sign stopped me right in my tracks. I have never been able to resist a good sandwich advertisement, which was definitely hot. The fact that the shop is not a restaurant made it so that the fried chicken went from the fryer to my mouth in about 30 seconds. It might’ve been the juiciest and freshest chicken sandwich I have ever had. Ordered the fried pickles as well. I will not lie; I might’ve needed a little help with them, but it was still such a fun snack to have on the side.Food aside, there are very few homey / neighborhood / independent butcher shops like it left in the city, and I hope more people give it a chance.

The staff at the meat department are amazing! Tareq is a godsend he helped us honour our (deceased) friend with a pig roast which he supplied the pig and even showed up and did the carving and serving on his own time and dollar. They also provided my family with our thanksgiving turkey which was so delectable and reasonably priced considering today’s market. Would give them my business every chance. ???

The local and home grown ethos of the spot is great. They sell a lot of local and small batch food items from hot sauces to BBQ and a few sodas.Been meaning to try the fried chicken sandwich at this stop since last summer. Finally stopped by today while running errands in the area.Selling a fried chicken sandwich with Frank's as your main sauce felt off brand. The sandwich was ok and I liked it but nothing mind blowing.

Tried to reach out to them multiple times.Found shreded up blue latex glove all throughout a sausage purchased here. Messaged on thier website and on Facebook leting them know. Month later still no response or refund.
