The other reviews speak to the high quality and wide variety of meat, but the staff too is super friendly and very knowledgeable about the products - always willing to take the time to recommend other meats (sometimes more affordable) depending on the dish I am making or able to answer any questions I have about the meat.

One of the best butcher shops that I have been to. They had so many options and we were able to try deer for the first time. We also got the option of buying a rabbit which I enjoyed. Looking forward to visiting again. Thank you for your great customer, service and affordable prices.

There are plenty of reviews telling you about their quality and commitment towards animal welfare. All true.What I’d like to focus on is what happened to me last night.My attention was elsewhere when I entered the shop and I was hit in the head by the door and bleeding. The care and genuine concern I received from the staff was as if I were a colleague.If they are reading this I’d like to say another big thank you to them. I’m doing well and plan on starting my usual work week tomorrow.

I was initially attracted to Sanagan's Meat Locker in Kensington Market because of its reputation and the allure of a butcher shop that could provide quality products to aid in my dietary needs. The store itself exudes charm and appears to be a promising establishment.However, my experiences with the staff have been consistently disheartening. On several visits, I've found the service to be lacking. Staff engagement with customers should be a cornerstone of any retail business, especially in a community-centric market like Kensington. Regrettably, my observation has been a tendency for staff to engage in unwarranted surveillance rather than assistance, which has not only hindered my shopping experience but also impacted my overall well-being.Most recently, an encounter at the cashier left me feeling distinctly ignored, while others received attentive service. This kind of inconsistency contributes to a feeling of alienation and undervaluation. It is these repeated micro-aggressions that cumulatively create an unwelcoming atmosphere and, frankly, they need to be addressed.I believe that all customers deserve to be treated with equal respect and consideration. I'm sharing this feedback in hopes that Sanagan's Meat Locker will take it as an opportunity to reflect on the customer service policies and training. There's great potential here, but without a commitment to equitable and attentive service, the business falls short of its promise.

I love going to Sanagan's meat locker for my family's meat consumption.Even before it became Sanagan we were a long time customer of Butcher By Nature,(previous owner Frank, such a great, fantastic and wonderful butcher and Trish and his wife Mirella) they served us well and thank you for that:)Lucas is always great and provides a very good service:)Unfortunately today, September 30th,2023 @ approximately 12:45 it was a different experience.I left the Annette location store feeling not welcome:(The employee that was there should be welcoming and helpful.She wasn't welcoming, not happy, very short tempered , in short, very rude!!!!She didn't respond to my questions in a friendly manner and she cut me off mid sentence. I asked her to help me reach two whole packages of chickens and she responded with, "But you are there?" I am small of stature and could not reach the top shelf. I was speechless and could not say a word! Very unhelpful and sarcartic and "ZERO/None" customer service. I normally brush these things off but this one got into me.Everybody should be treated the same by her. For me, it doesn't appear that she wants to be there at all.A wonderful gentlemen helped me and he was the one who reached them for me:) Whomever you are, once again I'd like to thank you:)Maybe having more than one service staff on duty would lesson the stress on her.The employee today @ Sanagan' meat locker Annette location over all not only one or two

If you want good quality meat, go here. Very good selection, fantastic cuts. A little pricey but good quality meat is. There are also some pantry staples…..but the meat is what you seek this place out for.

Sausage rolls were decent. They don’t taste like regular ones you get elsewhere. The red headed server was brisk and a bit rude. Would avoid him if possible.

Sanagans is such a great butcher shop to go and get some incrediable selections of meat. Our favorite secret cut of meat is the flat iron steak, we sometimes marinade it or just salt and pepper on the bbq. Wishful thinking for leftovers but when we do its a great lunch favorite!

Overpriced bad quality meat!!!...I bought Lamb tbone cuts and shoulder cuts yesterday. When I opened the pack last night, realized that Tbone cuts were not fresh at all, meat had turned black and was smelling so bad ???? that I had to throw it. I could only use shoulder cuts for my dish. To all the people who are reading this review-please check the meat yourself and smell it before they pack and seal it.
