Not worth the money. We are really trying to purchase Canadian made goods whenever possible, but this experience with Montauk is making me second guess that choice. This purchase was made summer 2021, delivered winter 2022.We ordered a “modern” sectional. We were told the lead time would be 6+ months, which is understandable considering it is a custom made piece + supply chain disruptions bc ofCovid, etc.Montauk presents themselves as being a high end, luxury furniture store. Our experience did not reflect this. We went in 3 times over the course of 2 months to select a sofa, fabric, finalize dimensions. Every time we went in, the price for the same item went up. And this is not a cheap piece of furniture. The price quoted initially, compared to what we ended up paying was a difference of several thousand dollars, which the salesperson was not up front about when providing us with a quote. For example, we selected a heavy grey fabric for the upholstery. A week later, we received an email saying that because the material was too thin (which is ridiculous, it was quite heavy) they were going to have to add a second layer of fabric so the material wouldn’t slide around. Upon receiving the couch and unzipping the cushions, there was no second layer of fabric. They charged an extra $900+ tax for this.*** update: We have now had this couch for 6 months. The fabric on the seats bunches up, the cushions look like they are stuffed with different quantities of filler and appear different sizes. The feather stuffing has started poking out of the cushion fabric and I need to vacuum the cushions every few days so it doesn’t look like a bird died on it.Honestly what a terrible experience, literally buy your furniture from anywhere else.

Not worth the money. Dishonest company. We are really trying to purchase Canadian made goods whenever possible, but this experience with Montauk is making me second guess that choice. Upon receiving the couch and unzipping the cushions, there was no second layer of fabric. They charged an extra $900+ tax for this “service.”The week that the couch was finally ready for delivery, we of course were out of town. They were very adamant of not having space to hold the item and wanted it delivered immediately, which we set up for the day we returned home. We had to pay several hundred dollars for the delivery, which normally includes assembly and removal of wrapping. The people who brought the couch in left everything wrapped in plastic, so we had to put together our own couch and deal with all the waste generated by the delivery. We have now had this couch for 6 months. The fabric bunches up, the cushions are stuffed with different quantities of filler and appear different sizes.Honestly what a terrible experience, literally buy your furniture from anywhere else.

We wanted a quality sofa for my new home. We have been waiting five months. This is way longer then the original time frame that was promised. We still don't have a delivery date. communication is only one way, my husband contacting the store to get an update, they never call back, are rude and unapologetic. we were given the impression that there is only one truck available to make deliveries in the entire province. I would expect so much more when you spend $15k on a sofa. can't speak to the quality as I DON"T HAVE MY SOFA YET.

When shopping for a new sofa I fell in love with the design of the Jane Sofa. I was a bit hesitant to spend this amount of money with some of the reviews I had read. I received my sofa and it was everything I had hoped for. The whole process went perfectly from the order, to the delivery and ultimately the product. 5 big stars!!!!

I have been deeply disappointed with Montauk. A few months ago, I moved to Victoria from Toronto after retiring. I know, a bit of a cliche. I purchased a custom Montauk sofa in December to be delivered 12 weeks later, which I anticipated. I was very clear that I wanted a comfortable, sturdy couch that would also look modern and after a couple of visits to the showroom, selected the Stanley in a linen look fabric. I wanted quality and wanted to support a Canadian company.
The sofa arrived more or less when promised but sadly was not fully upholstered when it arrived and the poor delivery man was clearly unable to complete it. The Vancouver store came to the rescue and found a local upholsterer to fix it. Looks OK, but not awesome.
Subsequently, due to the size and weight of the base and back cushions, they have become misshapen and don't properly fill the cases and are so heavy, I can't pound them into shape. As a result, after about six weeks, the sofa looks awful and I can't imagine what it will look like in 5-10 years. For $9,000, I expected much more. Should have gone for a sofa from Crate and Barrel for half the price! Very disappointing.

If you haven't sat in a Montauk, you have to try one. This are the most comfortable couch on earth. Not a joke.
