Unsafe Environment for Customers, Poor Management Response
While shopping in the produce section, I noticed a customer opening blueberry containers and handling the berries with his bare hands and putting the ones he didn't like back on the shelf. Concerned, I called my wife (who doesn’t always wash her blueberries) to inform her about what I’d seen.
The customer, overhearing my conversation, began following me, loudly calling me a coward and continuing to verbally harass me around the store, even though I tried to ignore him. Eventually, he caught up to me at the front and confronted me directly, demanding to know why I’d told my wife instead of addressing him. My intent was to share what I saw firsthand with my wife—no one else, especially him because I knew I wouldn't get anywhere.
At this point, I expected intervention from store management or security who were near by. The manager—a tall man with grey hair—stood by but didn’t inquire about the situation or ask what was wrong. When I tried to explain that I was being harassed, he simply interrupted and warned both of us to stop “carrying on” or leave the store.
I felt unsupported and dismissed by this manager who sees me in the store every day, whose priority seemed to be moving us along rather than ensuring a safe and respectful environment. Disappointingly, I later saw him patting the other customer on the shoulder, suggesting his lack of regard for my experience.
This behaviou is not what I expect from a store manager. I will likely shop at Far Boy instead, where customer are respected as a priority by all staff. This Metro Lloyd Manor location would greatly benefit from training in customer service and handling sensitive situations more appropriately. Starting with the manager of the store.

Either the flower lady doesn't like color skin people or she hates her job. Greeted everyone else except me in line and did a half ass job wrapping my flowers. *big brown guy with super man hat* I had to initiate the hi hello how are you. I'll stick to buying flowers in Ajax. 1st time time was lowsy..

I have placed this Midnight mango mousse cake for birth day online in this Metro location and got confirmation saying it will be ready to pick it up next day between 5 pm to 6 pm. Also called them to reconfirm it again , lady picked up the phone and told me it will be ready 100% and confirmed the order.
I drove there from Vaughn to Etobicoke to pick up the cake and asked the about the confirmation about the order with bakery staff and they simply told me they do not sell this cake often.
What an extreme disappointment/ unprofessionalism and big thanks for wasting my time.

Metro delivery will damage your vehicle on your private driveway.
Twice they have parked up onto our front lawn, with one wheel on our lawn and one on the driveway, coming very close to our parked vehicle, to get as close to our front door as possible, to save themselves from walking 15 feet. We raised with Customer Care after the first incident. There’s plenty of space on driveway to park additional vehicles. Also plenty of space on the street to park. How is Metro going to pay for the damage to our vehicle and our property?

Metro delivery van parked with one wheel on our front lawn and one wheel on our driveway, very close to our car. Took pictures and sent them to Metro Customer Care.

Customer care wrote back saying the case is resolved and apologized for a delay in the delivery. (Did they read our message?)

Clean store, however pricier than many other grocery stores. The few times I've been, items I wanted to buy were already out of stock. Not sure if they do rainchecks. No more Air Miles either, which sucks.
