Scented candles is what I do for self-care.I happened to be in the area and I walked into "labour of love" and I see the kitchen and think, this doesn't seem right, but candles have a habit of being sold in some pretty unexpected places. So I keep going and am greeted by the owner, Regina. She was looking after a couple that seemed new to the city and after she asked them if they liked Toronto, they said something to the effect of -yes, they really did- I could tell by Regina's reaction that she was surprised, I was too. That's how I started a conversation with her. She being a business owner, and I, in a field that sees the inner workings of how the city is run, and it's done terribly.I am very excited for her to host a get together she was talking about. She asked me what was my special talent I could bring to the event...unfortunately, I have no creative talents, I can declutter a place because I'm the opposite of a hoarder and I throw everything out, but nothing I could bring to a party lolBut I am excited to listen to other people's experiences and pitch in!

Labour of Love is one of my favourite places to shop. In the 25 years we’ve known each other, Regina always makes me feel welcome and she carries the most incredible things (jewelry, books, cards). She also has amazing workshops ????

Gorgeous building and sweet crafts, but a rather unwelcoming owner. If you own a business, take care to make people feel welcomed, instead of awkward and slightly passive aggressive. I would like to buy more things from there, the candles seem nice, but due to their attitude will make sure I dont return. DX

They have nice cards but they will definitely set you back by a lot. It would be helpful to have prices on it.

This place really lives up to its name. The owner, Regina, puts her heart and soul into her business, spotlighting many different local creators. Highly recommend popping by and taking a look!

I’ve been in the shop twice and although they sell nice things, the customer service is quite unfriendly.

Friendly & accomodating staff in phone call! So grateful to save time with Uber package service when in a hurry. I also love their website design for helping me choose good quality gifts exactly for what I need. One of the best gift selections in Toronto. You cannnot miss it!

What a beautiful little shop. So many incredible, high quality items... Jewlery, cards, cooking/baking goodies, books, skin care and so much more. A wonderfully curated store!

I had the pleasure of stopping by Labour of Love on a Wednesday, when they celebrate "Power Down Wednesdays", where you are encouraged to leave your devices in your bag and shop mindfully. It was such a joy to disconnect from my notifications and spend a few minutes smelling their incense collection, running my hands over their kitchen linens, and feasting my eyes on their unique selection of incredible jewelry. The store owner is such a sensitive soul, and her effort to create a welcoming, gorgeous, and safe space has been a complete success. She took the time to personally gift-wrap my selections, and I was lucky enough to leave the shop with a complimentary cutting from one of their own pothos plants, which she was giving away today to anyone who wanted one. Labour of Love is an aptly named gem of Cabbage Town and is the perfect place to find a little love for you or anyone on your shopping list.

Regina, the owner of this store, was incredibly friendly and made my experience amazing. She was super passionate about the items in her store and the goals for this place. Loved all the sustainable, cute and thought-out items throughout the store.
