First time at Kal Tire to buy and install a replacement Winter Tire.
While the walk in entrance was not as obvious (no obvious sign, windows, or “store front”) as the entrance doors look like utility doors, this delay in entering was more than made up for with the good to great service I got.
From the staff who directed me to the entrance side, to especially James, the polite and patient gentlemen mechanic who not only checked me in but worked on switching up, disposing of the old scrap tire, and installing the new matching winter tire.
He was thoughtful enough to reach out by phone to patiently confirm exactly what was needed before he started. And he even went so far as to, after the job was nearly done, show me to confirm and assure me of the work he did.
That respect, transparency and honesty was very refreshing and reassuring, especially to someone new to services such as these, and was worth the price for the tire and the service. I wouldn’t hesitate to go to Kal Tire, especially at this location, for future tire and related needs, and wouldn’t hesitate to go so far as to recommend these guys.

As a longtime Kal customer for new tires and alignments in multiple vehicles I called and made an appointment at the new 12 Carlaw location for a simple plug install.
After they removed the wheel, they told me it was unrepairable due to the screw being in the sidewall. I told them I strongly disagreed that it was in the sidewall as it was in the heavily tread part of the tire that is in contact with the road.
They said it was Kal's policy to not install in the sidewall and wouldn't fix it. It sure felt like they were trying to sell me a new tire so I went home and plugged it myself having (before grey hair) plugged over a hundred tires in my life.
Look at the picture and decide for yourself if this plug is in the sidewall. I won't be using Kal again.
Followup Oct7/24
After my review, Kal tires staff reached out to me on 2 separate days to try to rectify the situation. Although I no longer needed them to plug my tire, Hassan took the time to express that they heard my concerns loud and clear and wanted an opportunity to demonstrate to me that my experience was not typical.
I have upgraded my review to 3 stars to reflect Kal tires efforts to improve my experience with them and to make thing right as much as possible.

I booked an appointment for a tire swap and alignment for Saturday 9AM. When I reached at the location, I was told that I am booked for 10AM, I told the attendant that there must be a confusion because I was on call 3-4 time and re confirmed the booking timings must still they told me that I would have to wait. After 3 and a half hours they told me that they could only swap my tires and couldn’t do the alignment because their mechanic is fairly new. After I left, I realized that my left tyre was wobbling a lot and took it to the nearest mechanic. He showed me how the mechanic at kal tire left the TIRE ROD completely loose and was a major safety issue. It was a major disappointment after so many confusions and delay.

I am very happy and glad I bought my tires at Kal Tire. This year I bought a set of all-weather tires from Kal Tire and yesterday one of them got punctured with a screw. I had fully expected to pay for the repair, but it was fully covered by the customer care plan. The plan also covers regular schedule tire rotations, which is great. Special thanks to Yukta for her help and squeezing me in for a last moment appointment.

Excellent service, price, and tires! I primarily worked with James who was friendly, offered great knowledge and advice, and gave me an excellent price for the tires. Harry and Jackie also provided excellent service as well. Would recommend KalTire to all.

I took my partners Jeep in to check if a nail had caused a leak. Immediately upon arrival I felt like the their team “had” someone to sell, being a small female with no knowledge of cars they took advantage of that. They told me the tire was going to “pop” at any moment and that I was in “danger”, and that it needed to be replaced - I called my partner and told him things felt “off” with these guys so we took it to Jeep - where it was completely serviced, diagnostics run on the tire, and found to be in “perfect condition”. Stay away from Kal Tire, these guys are shady and creepy. If you’re a woman I highly suggest you go elsewhere.

They messed up with my tire sensor when doing a seasonal change. (Brand new car)
But this is not a bad review. After I complained about it, they ordered a new sensor and replaced it. Very professional and fair ??????
