Unfriendly cashier. No eye contact, or acknowledgment at all.

I go here twice a week for a year or so and I used to love it but there have been a recent shift in front cashier staff for the past 2 months for the worse. They used to be very polite and helpful but recently, it’s been a cold experience with abrupt interactions and half the time the cashiers are busy speaking with each other while only partially doing their work.
Last week a customer in front of me got very frustrated at the cashier as she continued on an extensive conversation in another language with a coworker for a pretty long time. The customer ahead of me asked the cashier if she could spend approach the check in a more time efficient manner as she would scan one item then chat for a few minutes before continuing. She didn’t even acknowledge what he said and just continued to take her time. It was pretty frustrating for him and for all of us waiting behind him. He had less than 10 items but it took her nearly 10 minutes to scan the items. (I know as I listened to two full songs while waiting behind him) Then when it was my turn she took my two bottle returns but forgot to refund me the deposit. I had to remind her twice and she sighed before applying the deposit.
I recently feel like an inconvenience to the front staff and it’s unappealing to continue to shop here.
Not sure what’s up with all the new cashiers but their quality of service is substantially decreased.

Bagged potatoes mostly turn green or are green in the bag. Sad!

The best grocery store! The people working here are so kind, and genuinely pleasant to approach. Having the best produce and highest quality of items, this farm boy location is the best. And shoutout to Sarah :)

I'm a big fan of farm boys and it's products. But saw this today a box of old cookies with anew expiry date sticker attached over top. Pretty sad and now makes me think twice about buying baked goods from farm boys

I am reminding shoppers to check their receipts every time they visit this store. Nine out of ten times the store charges more. I bought 2 house tomatoes for 1.99 per pound and was charged $8.68. I wasn't sure why I reviewed the receipt before leaving the store then I went back to the cashier. He refunded $5.30, which means I was charged more than double the listed price. I wonder how the other cashier managed. Even if the price was doubled as $3.99 they still over charged me. The same thing happened to me on multiple occasions, and I was never charged less though. It might just be this one store that doesn't train their cashiers well but I doubt it.

As great as a grocery store this place is, if management could actually abide by the policies that are set in place, it would be a better grocery store. Near as makes no difference every time I come in there is some person with their dog. Their dog which is clearly not a service animal but as one person described their “emotional support dog.” An emotional support dog is not a service animal, the AODA does not recognize them as such, and the mere fact the management at farm boy can’t abide by the fact any true service animal has a vest stating it’s a service animal and to keep back degrades actual service animals that actual people use. Using an “emotional support animal” with a card that was printed on amazon and having management and all the employees look the other way because they don’t want to deal with the person goes to show how much management will bend the rules, if their willing to do it on their own policies it questions what other bending their doing. People who use these “emotional support animals” and then pass claim it’s a service dog are getting out of hand, abuse the AODA regulations as they are not a recognized service dog, and having them urinate or defecate in the middle of the store and shrug it off, is a slap in the face to those actually using true service animals which are clearly identified. It’s gotten to the point where you see three or four of these “emotional support animals” at any given time waltzing around the store and management which does not even know AODA policies or other employees too nervous and on edge to do anything about it so they’ll keep a customer and not abide by their own policies is starting to get out of hand and tiring, stepping in animal urine or faeces while grocery shopping because someone needed their toy chihuahua or toy dog to help them from having a breakdown with their “service animal license” they bought off amazon really goes to show how poorly this place is managed, how sanitary the store and products are, the inability to abide by policies, and how willing they’re to slapping those with actual service animals or disabilities which require a marked service animal are. It’s gotten out of hand and tiring to step in animal defecation with someone shrugging it off and watching the management of employees shrug it of and coo these ”emotional support animals” because they know just how willing the person is to abusing regulations that they’re disrespecting enough to cause a scene for attention. If they don’t know AODA policies, they’re willing to let these policies fly by the handle then they may as well start turning a blind eye shrinkage policies and let people march out the front door.

Yesterday, my daughter was in this store getting groceries and suddenly felt very ill and thought she was going to faint. The staff here were remarkable, attending to her and ensuring she was taken care of. The manager " Nick" has been exceptional, even calling to check on her today! I cannot express how grateful I am to these wonderful people, they have truly restored my faith in humanity.

It’s great. My only wish is that it had options for Halal precooked meals. The variety looks great but sadly it’s not halal. Or I would literally live on the food from here

Very clean store with friendly staff. Only suggestion would be to join Flashfood or TooGoodToGo to help prevent food waste.
So much is tossed at the end of the day that could be avoided

Good store, full of fresh items with big choice. They also have good range of products made in their lines. Food quality is on a good standard level. Cold, hot and sushi buffet is available. If you have no idea what you would like to eat then just go around and get the idea right away. Really love Farm Boy sourdough bread. So yummy ?
