I have been going to this Dollarama for over two decades, and consistently, it offers an extensive array of products for purchase. Notably, the checkout lines are efficiently managed, avoiding the common issue of extended wait times seen in many Dollarama stores due to limited cashier staffing.

I am almost always content and/or satisfied shopping at dollarama locations, UNTIL I am forced to ask for help from a worker. As a previous, unhappy employee from dollarama, I can say a few things about their poor management. Two days ago, I bought a bunch of stuff, including two fabric freshener bottles. I spent $100 that purchase, and we all know that's some decent business for a dollar store. I got home, and noticed one of the bottles was leaking, and when I took out one of them, it was fully emptied and drained on all of my products. Today, I brought back the bottle, with a receipt, and explained my story. I had to talk to three people, last person was the manager. Not sure why I couldn't talk to the manager the first time I had mentioned my issues, but I was handed around and finally, the manager told me to take it up with customer service and they couldn't do anything. I told them, as a previous dollarama employee at a different location, I have had my fellow managers go above and beyond to go against their return/exchange policy to satisfy their customers.. obviously this can't be the case every single time someone asks for an exchange or return, but if the product is DEFECTIVE, or the situation is understandable like this, AND I paid for over $80 in products, it shouldn't be hard to tell this is a LEGIT concern and exchange.. and there should be exceptions in place. Now I'm out $5 because dollarama doesn't know how to stock their shelves competently. Not coming back to this dollarama, and I will continue to leave these reviews until some form of management can acknowledge their wrong doing.(Oh funny enough, when I mentioned to the first girl I had worked at dollarama before, she told me I should know not all products are going to be perfect, and I responded with, actually, as a former employee, I should know your management and employees should be doing a better job at making sure products are secure before leaving the store to prevent spills, leaks, and not expect the customer to have second thoughts about buying products from this place).

Ok, maybe I'm being thrown off by the whole basement - dingy-ness of it all - but I do not like having to come to this location. First, the stairs are so dangerous. Sometimes, it's slippery when it's rainy or snow-ing out. There's no sign and no one even trying to clean it up. And then you get into the store and it's so messy. Yes, the staff here don't seem very friendly, but I don't think you'd be very friendly too if you worked 8 hours a day with zero windows/ daylight. Lastly, the quality of dollar store items has really gone down. But somehow prices went up?

My recent experience at Dollarama was disappointing. I struggled to find a simple item, and when I asked for assistance from a staff member there, several times, I encountered unhelpful and rude responses. I was informed that the individual was the team leader. As a team leader, I expected better behavior.

Big store and well stocked. Gifts, souvenirs and craft items are available. Self checkout kiosks help in quick checkouts. The staff are kind and helpful.
