Favourite store for the past decade! I started shopping here because they’re the only store in the city that carries a designer that I loved while living in France and I’ve been introduced to several new favourite designers through CMD since then. It’s a gem ?

I always make a point of visiting this store when I’m in Toronto. They have beautiful, well-made clothing and the staff are always friendly and helpful.

I love Coal Miner's Daughter and the collection of Canadian-designed clothes they curate, but my experiences shopping here have been hit and miss, because they don't seem to get new inventory very often. For example I have an outdoorsy wedding coming up and wanted to find a suitable outfit- dressy and feminine, but also picnic-chic and in a natural material that would be comfortable in hot weather. Of course I thought of CMD and visited three of their locations (Queen west, Roncy and Dundas west). At all three I found that dresses, tops and skirts I had been excited to see online were either sold out, or only in very large or very small sizes. I would understand if this had been the end of the season, but this was mid-July. It seemed really early to be out of so much summer inventory. It's a lovely store to try your luck in if you happen to be walking past, but based on this experience I don't think I'll make a special visit there again, unless I know they are well-stocked at that moment like the very beginning of a season.

The boutique is cute and lovely. I appreciate the showcasing of CANADIAN designers. Honestly though the staff at this location are not the friendliest. This is not my first time having a not so friendly experience with them either. I think .... how you treat people makes a difference, and it can be a deciding factor in if a customer returns.

Store has really nice stuff but this particular location was very pretentious. Lady was not helpful and unwelcoming. At the end she stormed to the changing room frustrated nothing was purchased. If the owner would like to contact me please do. We love the area and would hate to see this attitude cause then leave.

Pretty disappointed today when I went to both the Roncesvalles and Queen st stores and both had "be right back" notes with no staff inside... And they were having a sale. You'd think they'd have adequate staff for a sale day or staff would not leave the store for 20 minutes to go eat. Pack a lunch maybe?! You may have lost a customer or more today. Previous experiences have been better.

Cute and interesting store that highlights local Canadian brands for fashion and other neat little items to make your day a bit more prettier. With a focus on being feminine, it doesn't fall into the trap of the instagram trendy fashion where you wear it one day and toss the next.
I do love how this supports Canadian brands... 200% love it. I spotted Sara Duke, Birds of North America, and even Sloane Tea! They also have non Canadian brands but they're keeping in the same aesthetics and quality. So I find the stitching and fabrics a good step up from anything you'd find in the normal malls.
I would say the overall look curated here is casual and relaxed with a pretty spin. So think loose dresses in light prints, flowy blouses, A line tank tops that keeps you cool, and comfy linen pants. Personally my preference didn't quite fit this look but I did enjoy perusing the racks in hopes of finding something.
This particular store is not large so I had a hard time finding anything in my size even if I did find clothes that did catch my eye. I do appreciate how everything was nicely organized so I could look around without feeling claustrophobic or lost in a maze of racks.
Service here was courteous and prompt. They did welcome everyone who walked in and that was a nice touch. For those who did need help, I could see them actively trying to find a new size or help bring over a new accessories to match the items they were trying.
Overall, I'd love to support a Canadian store that offers quality items that are Canadian made. Totally thrilled with the idea. Maybe in another season I could find a casual and yet cute item there.
