3359 Yonge St, Toronto“As a lover of cheese, I had heard about Cheese Boutique in Toronto's west end by way of a dear friend who previously worked there. Due to time and circumstance, I had never made the time to explore it, until now.
My first impression was that of Fatos Pristinë (the patriarch of the family-owned business) welcoming me in the middle of Ripley Avenue, inviting me to stay and watch the Euro Cup soccer matches that Sunday afternoon in their Sports Tent. That, and the custom-decorated Fiat 500 (my favourite car) at the front of the store, made for a wonderfully positive first impression.
Once inside the store, I discovered cheese from the two heritage regions where my father was from: Pecorino Sardo (Sardinia) and Mozarella di Bufala (Campania). The Mozarella di Bufala was a bit pricey ($10 for one ball), but it was the creamiest most delicious ball of cheese ever made - Heaven.
Another joy was discovering racks of olive oil from Sardinia. Usually, it is difficult to find even one brand of Sardinian olive oil in stores, but Cheese Boutique had more selection on two shelves than what I ever saw in the old country. Fatos joined me again for a bit watching the Switzerland-Germany game (ended in 1-1 tie).
At the end of the soccer match, I left Cheese Boutique with the same sense of longing as when leaving my family overseas, with a promise that I will return, again and again. Grazie mille per tutto. Faleminderit për gjithçka.
P.S. Thanks to everyone who helped me obtain the book "For the Love of Cheese", and to meet the author himself Afrim Pristinë.”

676 Bloor St W, Toronto“Hole in the wall korean butcher. So many kimchi and banchan options which are reasonably priced. The frozen meats and marinated meats were pricey in my opinion. Would go back for special occasions/dinners.”
“We tried out the supper club for a group of 10. Jason and the team created an excellent feast for us. It was a great evening. We were stuffed and tipsy by the end of the night.”
“Best butcher in the city!
Go in at least weekly with all the variety they have and always friendly service with recommendations on recipes.
If you haven't stopped by and live around, I'd highly recommend stopping by.”
“The other reviews speak to the high quality and wide variety of meat, but the staff too is super friendly and very knowledgeable about the products - always willing to take the time to recommend other meats (sometimes more affordable) depending on the dish I am making or able to answer any questions I have about the meat.”
“I’ve been going there for over 20 years , food is amazing kabab, chicken… I sent probably over hundreds of people to the store through out the years and they are now regulars .BUT lately prices are high specially fresh meatU can’t put prices away higher that the other meat markets in the area !! I know everything is up but ur prices doesn’t make sense”

800 St Clair Ave W, Toronto“It is a little bit difficult to find a chicken liver in Toronto. However, Macellaria Atlas has it. Moreover, the price is cheaper than in grocery stores, as No frils, Metro, etc.Friendly service here as well.”
“Very happy to have this place close by. Great quality meat and eggs from local farms. Absolutely worth it to spend a couple bucks more than the grocery store to get infinitely better quality and also without supporting factory farming. This is the only place I buy meat from!”

1513 Gerrard St E, Toronto“Just enjoyed a delicious ribeye from Sanagans Gerrard. My guy on the Counter was super helpful in choosing the best cut and special
shoutout to blackbird for the super consistent best baguette in Toronto. If I die tonight it will be with a smile on my face.”
“My favourite place for steak - if you eat enough, try Rowe Farms and taste the difference!
A huge thank you to David for being such a great help and so nice!”
“I've been to roast a few times and will offer this advice: Speak to the butcher. They are very knowledgeable about their products and give great recommendations. A couple times I've outlined an upcoming event, or asked for their advice on a dinner idea, and with their guidance always knocked it out of the park. Quality product and people.”

2055 Yonge St, Toronto“My experiences at The Butcher's Son over the past year have been consistently positive. The grass-fed beef is a highlight, offering a superior taste and quality that is hard to find elsewhere. Their range of products is impressive, catering to various preferences with a focus on high-quality ingredients. The staff at The Butcher's Son also contributes greatly to the overall shopping experience. Their friendliness and courtesy make each visit pleasant, showing a genuine interest in both their products and customer satisfaction. For those looking for a quick, satisfying meal, their freshly made smash burgers and other hot sandwiches are a delicious protein boost!”
“Easily some of the best sandwiches in the city. Most Sandos come in at under $15 so they’re not cheap but damn are they good. I haven’t tried their meat counter yet but they also have a great frozen and prepped food section.”
“You can buy meat that is in excellent quality at this store. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the meat that you get. I highly recommend coming here for all your meat shopping!”
“I have been going to the Meat Dept. for many years now ever since I first went to their Danforth location. Yes there are a few butchers close to where I live, but I always go back to the MD. From the rock and roll always playing, to the friendly staff, it has never let us down. Also, the meat is top quality and seems on par with what it should cost for what you get. The kids have grown up with me going to MD and always know to look for the circle sign with the cleaver on it when on Roncy. We did our annual steak dinner for NYD and the steak was excellent as always. Thanks MD.”

“I've been many times, bought maybe 50lb of beef and 50lb of chicken total - quality has been very good, more consistent than grocery stores. They will vacuum seal meat for free on request, which is great for a sous vide brisket, ribs, or steak.”
“A stalwart of Bloor West Village has always been my go to place for fresh meats. Proper old-fashioned style butcher shop with friendly staff and high quality produce that is often cheaper than supermarkets. Bob was particularly helpful and carried my purchase to the door as I had my dog with me. 10/10 service.”
“Delicious, but staff need to know what’s in the prepared items. They often cannot answer whether specific allergens are in any of the items and just try to guess what’s inside by looking at it. Not great.”
“I discovered mister butcher randomly looking for Picanha on google. I placed an order with them for two picanha steaks and they were juicy/tasty! Excellent customer service from the propreitors Jonathan & Christine! I’ll definitely be getting steaks from them again !”
