I am a neighbourhood customer at the 7-11 on Manning and Dundas. I want to lodge a complaint against Anik who was having a very heated argument with another employee. As a customer, I found this completely unacceptable and said so to Anik, who told me it was none of my business. I disagreed with him and told him that as a customer, it was my business to expect civility between employees and in front of customers. I do hope someone will teach him how to behave.

I have visited this store several times to purchase beer. Each time, I was asked to show identification, and I presented a legally valid International Driver’s Permit. However, they refused to sell to me, insisting that I bring my passport instead. I’ve never had this issue at LCBO or The Beer Store.
Last night, I went to the store again to buy beer. I greeted them politely, saying “Hi, sure,” but Nbuiyan did not return my greeting and instead curtly replied, “ID.” When he saw my passport with the cover that read “Republic of Korea,” he said, “Oh, Japanese.” I immediately confronted him about this offensive remark. He showed no intention of apologizing, and the female cashier standing next to him laughed as if she found the situation amusing.
My sister had a similar experience at this store. Her International Driver’s Permit was also rejected, and the cashiers told her to “bring a Chinese passport,” again making an ignorant assumption about her nationality.
We are deeply angered by this experience and will be filing a formal complaint with 7-Eleven’s corporate service center.

The cashiers here are racist. They assume your race and even after you correct them, they don’t care and just laugh, repeating the same thing. It’s happened to me and other East Asians. This is a big problem.

A convenience store that denies you access to their washroom to pee even after making a purchase. Very inhumane!
