I had a terrible experience at this pet store that could have ended in tragedy for my cat. I went in to buy tick medicine and brought two different options to the counter. The one with three bottles was more expensive than the one with four, so I asked the woman at the till for advice. She recommended a product that she said was for dogs, advising me to just get the small dog kind for my cat. Trusting her expertise, I followed her advice.
Unfortunately, this was a huge mistake. The medicine turned out to be toxic to cats, and my poor cat licked it off and ended up poisoning himself. He had a seizure, and we had to rush him to the vet, spending thousands of dollars to save his life.
While I acknowledge that I should have read the label more carefully and not just trusted her advice, I believe the staff should be better trained to provide accurate information. The advice I received was not only incorrect but also potentially deadly for my cat. It's heartbreaking to think about what could have happened, and I wouldn't want anyone else to go through the same ordeal.

Sorry, but this is the most overpriced pet store I have ever been to. All 2 stars for friendly service and good selection of stuff. Everything here is cheaper on Amazon.

I’ve been to Ren’s Pet a few times now. I prefer & recommend Rens to PetSmart any day of the week! They serve you & your pet with great care! Always greeted when you enter & staff are very friendly & knowledgeable! Can’t say that about Petsmart ? Prices are reasonable & if you can’t find what you’re looking for they are always giving you suggestions ? The store is very clean & very organized! Love going to Ren’s Pet store now & they give once in a while giving coupons for $$ off your next visit from 10% or saving $20. on your next purchase!

I had a problem with an on line order. The Manager gave excellent customer service and i was very pleased with the outcome. I would give 10 stars if I could. I would certainly recommend the Thunder Bay store for all your pets' needs. I want to thank the store manager for the great service!

Nice clean and well organized store.Getting some help ever so often from the staff would be greatly appreciated.Buying and trying on winter coat for a puppy was some what challenging. ?

I've been a very loyal Shopper at another pet store in town however over the years the service has really gone downhill. After I got a new puppy I stopped at rens with the puppy just to pick up some extra treats and and toys as I was taking her to work with me all the time. I found the staff was absolutely amazing and I kept going back. Again today I brought my puppy who is now 6 months old to the store to get a new harness after trying out another store and getting absolutely no help and they didn't really seem to care whether I was going to buy anything at all. Lucas helped me, we sized the harness up on the dog. He adjusted it and made she she was comfortable .I inquired about glucosamine for both my dogs, Lucas was able to show me what I needed for each of them. I think I will be switching all my pet shopping to Rens.

Felt so discouraged with finding a new pet food keeping my dogs allergies and DCM in mind - until I walked into Ren's. Nikki was SO knowledgeable and helped me find a food that works for my dog!! I am soo relieved, Ren's will definitely be my new pet store.

Decent selection of good quality wet cat food and raw pet food. Lots of toys aswell. Very kind and helpful staff, I love it here!
