I was in looking to buy some fabric. The associate helping me was very nice and helpful. While waiting on the associate to come back with some fabric, I witnessed the most disgusting behavior from a staff member. One staff member said she was going on break. The staff walking past, I think I heard the name Julie (wearing an orange top and had what looked like red) said in just a meal and nasty tone she was going on lunch since she had been there all day snd someone else was going on break. The poor girl was vusably upset, understandably, but kept it to herself. You NEVER speak to a staff member that way, especially in front of customers. Very poorly managed store as breaks should be scheduled and written down at the start of the day. Never going back to this location.

My mom and I, both hijabis, had a very unpleasant experience at this store. I’m only 14, and the staff treated us with clear Islamophobia. They spoke to us in a rude and disrespectful manner. When I tried to grab a rubber band, one of the three women ran towards me, assuming I was stealing. After realizing I was just getting the rubber band, she walked away without any apology. Later, I was playing with the rubber band on some cloth, and they accused me of making it go missing. I returned the rubber band, but their behavior was incredibly offensive. I don't want anything from such disrespectful, Islamophobic people.(I’d rate it a 0 if I can)

Senior staff member appeared to have no time for us. Only 3 customers in store at time. 5 years later same lousy attitude.

Left the store yesterday thinking that was the worst shopping experience I have ever had. The staff was not helpful or friendly and at times rude. 3 customers actually asked me for help!

I had a problem learning how to use my sewing machine and they did not hesitate at all to get my machine up and working for me. Keep in mind there was no maintenance but they taught me how to use my machine and I appreciate that so much thank you !!!! St Catherine’s Welland Ave Fabricland

Let me explain the 2 stars. I called and spoke with Mary-ann (awesome, amazing employee) who accommodated my request to secure the proper material. I show up and speak with Julie who, for whatever reason made me feel incompetent in my request for material. So much so, that I simply asked if she could direct me to the employee (at the time I didn't know her name, Mary-ann). Julie responded with, "I don't know who you spoke with." Rather than, "Do you know who you spoke with?". I asked if she would mind paging for the employee who answered the phone 10 min prior. She walks off to the back and I had to ask if anyone spoke to me 10 min ago. Mary-ann responded, That flash encounter was enuf to stop me from going there again were it not for Mary-ann. 5 stars for Mary-ann. 2 for Julie as she was given several attempts to redeem herself.

Every time I go to fabricland, I’m so excited to get supplies as I love sewing and creating projects but every single time I go to the store, I leave super unhappy. I’m never greeted and if I am it’s always informing me that “we close at 7 on the dot just so you know” or no words at all. Im never asked if I need help while shopping and if I ask a question, I’m treated as if I have 3 heads and they act stupid with me since I’m not an expert at sewing. I’ve always left there feeling less and less confident. The people that work there make me not want to shop there but I always end up back for their beautiful fabrics hoping I’ll get better service.
