The establishment in question may not be my preferred choice for grocery shopping, but occasionally, they do offer advantageous deals. However, I have observed that the quality of the produce they provide is inferior compared to that of independent grocers. I understand that there are different grades of produce available for purchase, and I believe Food Basics procures lower-grade produce, resulting in a shorter shelf life after purchase ultimately aiding in keeping the prices lower for the consumer.

Fantastic prices and a clean store. Also wonderful customer service, especially by the gentleman in the bakery department and the gentleman in the self-checkout area. Was paying with bills and expected to wait in line for the cash register but didn't have to wait as the self-checkout accepts bills, very efficient.

The addition of the self checkouts is a big plus for me. As a very shy introverted person I prefer to use them over a cashier because I only go in for 2 or 3 items

I shop there frequently for instacart and I have actually left reports with instacart about how shoppers need more time when getting orders from this store because it's so poorly stocked. It adds a lot to my time to constantly try and find substitutions. I get a lot of complaints from customers that I've gotten the wrong thing because of how poorly this store is stocked

They have just installed a new self checkout area this week. Store is clean, the staff is always helpful and polite. Loads of parking with easy access to the store.They did an upgrade to the freezer coolers not that long ago. Having alot of long time staff, tells you something about the owner management. Alot of stores these days just like to herd you into and out of their store. Thank you for providing a clean and organized shopping experience. When choosing your groceries these days it is more time consuming. Having a clutter free well laid out store is a bonus for the customer.
Congrats to all the staff at Smiths Falls, Brockville Street Food Basics that make my shopping experience more pleasant. With something as simple as a smile, how are you doing today!

Always a clean and straightforward store, best place in town to get food deals. Secret tip: get the salmon shavings. For like 4 bucks you get more salmon than you do in a slab of it.
