Hands down the worst bank in simcoe. Be prepared to wait at least 15 minutes in a line as they refuse to open more than 2 tellers at once, even if a 3rd is sitting there doing nothing; and chances are 1/2 will not know what they’re doing and need to call for assistance with the simplest transactions. Also expect your card to become locked at random times, not being able to be helped at the bank, and having to resort to a 3 hour long phone call; expect every bi weekly cheque to be held, and to not get any help from their useless customer service either. Honestly, bank literally anywhere else and you’ll be saving yourself a lot of time & stress.

been with cibc since i was 18, n many of my friends n family are with them. i recently switched to TD because the customer service is the worst i have ever seen. they locked a card because a payee was added n they thought it was fraud. its been 2 weeks n i called them every chance i have between work n sleep. n ive been on hold everyday for atleast a week. im unable to use my accounts bc its locked. there wasnt even fraud not a single transaction was done n they locked the accounts. im extremely annoyed with cibc n things need to change its very ridiculous.

Came in to withdraw $ from my line of credit. Served by a completely new staff member who kept trying to get help from his supervisors to no avail. I was left to wait over 30 mins as manager Kim had her lunch and entertained guests during it. I left 37 minutes after walking in without my $$ as I had had enough waiting.

We have been banking with this branch since 1992. Friendly people and very helpful staff. We have had wonderful experiences here. Always got friendly call to remind your renewal of G I C, and they tried their best to give you all the options... Any time if we need any help, they will always be happy to let you fit in their busy schedule. Now we moved to another city, we even feel more appreciative of years of services from those wonderful people in the branch. Recent visit to Simcoe, we were so glad to see Marlene V, Anita W and Yolanda N, as if we see old friends again! Thank you, along with so many wonderful people in this branch (Gail,Nancy .... just name a few, some retired already) !

My wife and I went to this branch office yesterday after we discovered we had a TFSA with them despite not doing our regular day to day banking with them.(we have neither an chequing account or client card) We went to the branch to close the account and withdraw what was in it ($14.59) The employee who helped us informed us after we closed the account that the cheque would be mailed to us. When we asked why she couldn't just give us the 14$ she sarcastically told us that it was because we were no longer customers.
Now firstly we are still customers we have our mortgage and a credit card through them so this was wrong and she knew it. Secondly while it was only 14$ that's really not the point. I realize this is undoubtedly a policy she has no control over but instead of just saying that she chose to talk down to me and my wife. Had she just apologized an said it was out of her control we would have just moved on with our day.
She insists we are not customers of CIBC, I can assure you that will be true at the soonest opportunity

Literally the worst banking experiences I have had with CIBC have been at this branch. Mind you I have had a lot of issues with other CIBC branches as well but Simcoe seems to be the worst. I am the treasurer for a not for profit account. I have had deposits not actually been put into the account, issues with changing over signing authorities, several appointments and still can't seem to get contact information updated, deposit errors where I have received a call after the fact stating they had made an error with the deposit amount and asked me to change the deposit amount in my records/deposit book, mail being sent to the wrong address, hassled about taking money out stating we didn't have the right authority with the only reason being they hadn't updated it properly in their system and due to different rules at different branches, had our bank card taken away saying we couldn't have one with our account type but then when it came up with another branch they said we absolutely could have a bank card. and recently I called and made an appointment and was told someone would call me back with the details of information I needed to bring... so no call back... so I call and can't get through, leave several messages, no call back... finally on the day of the appointment I call again and final get through and turns out the person I was supposed to have an appointment with no longer works there. This is just a brief summary of the issues I have had with CIBC and with the Simcoe branch in particular. On top of it closing two other branches in the area leaving me really only Simcoe as our branch option to go to and with their high turn over rate hard to get any sort of banking done at all. I really can't say enough to describe how terrible the banking experience has been the only upside has been the general pleasantness of most tellers when I have been doing daily banking things

If I could give them no stars I would. I cannot believe what I experienced when I went in to close my account. I had just sold my house and wanted to close my account with CIBC. When I went in I was totally surprised when I didn’t even have to put a PIN number in to receive such a large amount of money. What if I had lost my card, anyone could of taken that money out. I have dealt with them for 43 years and cant believe the incompetence of this teller and bank. Needless to say they will never get my business back and I will never recommend this branch to no one!!!! Throughly discussed!!!
