Great selection of fresh flowers and flower arrangements. Nice Bakery products as well. I tried their pumpkin muffins this time. Yummy! They also now have a points card which is good at Food Basics as well.

The pricing is gotten out of hand. I used to purchase these raisin brioche for $3.99 for 4-5 pieces and now it’s 3 pcs for $5.97. I do get meat, produce and dairy deliveries once or twice a month but like Loblaws the prices are skyrocketing. I also buy my Keg Billie miner Ice cream here and I ignore the high price tag because it’s my mini indulgence and no other place carries them. I also come here for my fresh baked Pumpernickle Rye bread $4.99-$5.99, only bread my family will eat. There’s an independent Starbucks here for when you need coffee early in the morning. I did ordered my drink twice here during the summer and they didn’t have the ingredients for it.

A well stocked, nicely organized supermarket in the Scarborough area. Interior is neat and clean. They have a wide range of products, including fresh produce, cakes and bakery items, grocery, fresh meat with butcher service, excellent floral section, great wine and bear stock, ready to eat foods etc. Staff are friendly and welcoming. They have ample parking in the huge parking lot. No doubt, one of the best in Scarborough.

I’m beyond disappointed with the service I have come across here at the meat and deli section. It was approximately 8:15pm and I wanted to grab a couple of meat and salami. Unfortunately the salami that my family and I prefer is out of stock so instead of leaving, I was open to try to meat and cuts. I asked to try ONLY two items and the Asian descent lady kept uttering “After this, I’m closed”. Yes I understand you’re closed but the store doesn’t close until the next 45 minutes? It was quite a surprise for me because I’ve been coming to the this location several years and despite with closing, they would still serve. As I was saying, the lady kept saying “someone called in sick and I’m here and doing her job.” For a second, I was thinking in my mind, I understand inconvenience can happen then why would you accept this last minute shift if you’re not willing to provide the service when you’re getting paid to do so??? My concern isn’t her ranting, it’s just the awful attitude (eye rolling, acting full of snob) it’s pretty concerning and unprofessional.

I have been shopping at this Metro location since I was a kid. Recently decided to visit this location for old time's sake.
Going to keep this review to the point as much as I possibly can.
Cleanliness of the store? Great. Well stocked inventory? Check. Affordable prices? Depends. (i.e., depending on who you ask, sometimes they have good deals, other times the prices may not appear to be all that affordable.
My issue (which explains the 2/5 stars):
On Monday, Sept 30th, I decided to order from the Starbucks inside the Metro.
Slow and lackluster service was the primary concern. The lady in charge of the cash register (will not name names out of respect) did not seem to have much urgency in her work ethic. For the most part, she seemed to be working at her own pace in accordance with her own whims and fancies.
Took me about 15-20 minutes waiting in-front of the cash register before she even *took my order* as she was preparing the other two orders from the people in front of me in the little to no lineup. There was literally just 4 people in the lineup. Also, by the way just so that whomever is reading this review knows, the other two people in front of me did not even order that many items to begin with. Like literally a drink and a sandwich or some other light snack.
Word of advice to management: When the Starbucks is busy, you need to have at-least two Barista's (no more than 3 given the location at the Metro) on deck to help streamline the order taking and prep process. Especially during long weekends as the queue can sometimes fill up without a moment's notice. So you have to be prepared at all times to be agile and adaptable.
Wait times for 15-20 minutes just to have my order taken, which consisted of just a breakfast sandwich (which by the way, the sandwich is already ready made to order, and no prep from scratch is really needed) and a fruit passion iced tea is completely unacceptable. As mentioned earlier, the people in front of me in the lineup did not even place that big of an order.
From what I saw, the customers in front of me ordered a minimal amount of items, and the pace in which the Barista was going was just not up to standard given that the orders needing to be fulfilled weren't even all that complicated. If you go to the Eaton Center or STC (even during peak times) I have seen barista's or other cashiers handle the queue very admirably (even with just one or two people manning the station).
Bottom line:
A.) Starbucks/Metro Management, train your staff to be more nimble, agile, and responsive in their operational/customer servicing capacities. Rapid service, whilst being quick on one's feet and mind are foundational traits for Barista's to employ in their field of work. It goes without saying, but those traits are necessary given the nature of the occupation.
B.) There should be *at-least* two Starbucks barista's manning that location because peak times (especially on long weekends) when many families come to purchase groceries can unexpectedly cause long line-ups to occur. Wait times for 15-20 minutes to have my order taken and the Barista just taking their sweet time in preparing small quantity orders is completely unacceptable in that line of work. Luckily the lineup was not that big at all (like I said just 4 people at the time I placed my order), otherwise, I shudder to think how this Barista would have even managed the queue if there were like 10-15 people in the lineup.
I am quite certain many customers (perhaps not all depending on their temperament) would have lost their patience. 100%.
