This location is in a convenient area because the Plaza has a lot more stores. My only complaint is that it has too many self checkouts. It’s frustrating seeing these companies get rid of their workers to replace them with machines.

Got a self checkout. Anything that helps cutting time on checkout is definitely welcome.

Me and my friend were here a while ago, and we had an overall good experience until we approached the cashier. When we approached cashier, it was like a dark souls boss meter above us, quickly approaching to full HP (Keep in mind we didn't cause trouble). As we started to prepare for the fight, she started to look at us like she didn't want for us to be there, while she treated the other customer with respect. When we were cashing out, she kept staring at us, like she was ready to charge her attack that would one shot us. Luckily, we were able to escape her overwhelming aura. In conclusion, we had a great experience, but her reaction to us was a let down. Great store, mid environment.

Opens at 11 on a Sunday? When everyone else in the area is open at either 9 or 10AM. Whoever set the hours here needs to be checked out.

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction and outrage over the way my daughters, aged 13 and 8, were treated by the store manager Sam at the Dollarama store.Kids were browsing the store for some items with one other 13 years old classmate when Sam approached them and accused them of shoplifting. He yelled at them in front of other customers and staff, threatening them. He did not give them a chance to explain. He escorted them to the cashier without their consent, only to find that they had paid for everything they had. After watching my kids pay, he started to yell again at them to get out of his store and not come back. This was a humiliating, traumatic, and unacceptable experience for my daughters, who are innocent and law-abiding customers. They were scared, embarrassed, and in tears. They felt like they were being targeted and discriminated against because of their age and appearance. They have lost their trust and confidence in shopping at Dollarama.I also learned this is not his first time doing this. Other kids experienced same in the past. Strongly recommand Dollarama taking displinary action on this employee immidiately.

Update: They deleted it. Reposted, minus a star.4 months ago post:If you choose counter cash out service there is a cashier that is rude and unfriendly. She will ring it up then walk away leaving you to put the items in the bags. She drops the bill on the counter. The bill that lists your money paid and your business given to them, and that’s the way they thank you. I had to pay for a bag. I said let me check that it is big enough for the bigger items before you ring it in (imagine we now have to pay for check out bags). We don’t always every day carry around previous bought bags! As she was handing it to me she kept trying to ring it in. I told her several times to wait a second. She ignored me. She was unfriendly, unprofessional and rude through the entire check out process. Ok, you couldn’t care less about my patronage, fine, I won’t be back. There are the other Dollarama negatives as well: no returns even if item is faulty; not even exchanges; no price adjustments even if customer discovers on bill that it is not the same price as on the item; exactly which items are a dollar anymore?; there are many toxic items as well including child and pets items. Shameful. I won’t stand for the type of behaviour of that cashier with all else faulty and disrespectful Dollarama has to offer their customers. Hope you close down soon and the good ol’ “The Dollar Store” that used to be at Hillcrest (it was wonderful) comes back. If not, it is partly the consumers’ faults that don’t speak up and demand better.
