After reading online the De Serres Corporate CS Dept very slow response rate, my time for resolution is short. Here's my email to CS:
I had two university graduation certificates mounted, secured & framed at the Yonge Street, Richmond Hill, ON location. The person who guided me at the time, Min, was super helpful, educating me on the various framing methods.
I picked them up this past Monday evening. The ceiling lights over the framing desk(back of store, no natural light) at that time of day aren't great. Looked them over w/the associate (not Min), and left the store.
At home, there was (what I thought at the time) a single long dark hair & scratch under the plexiglass.
I brought it back today, at around 3.10pm, with another print I planned to mount & frame.
My experience could not be more different. I did not catch the person's name (though can describe him to a T). He spoke to me so condescendingly & told me if I didn't see the issues before I left the store, then I'm pretty much SOL. That I upgrade to a better product, and / or pay the labour.
He said the plexiglass is quite cheap and will scratch easily, that it probably happened as I transferred it to or from my car once I left the store.
So here's the thing ... I paid for two differently sized mounted & framed certificates. I walked out of the store, as given to me by the Monday pm associate, the smaller one stacked directly onto the larger one. If plexiglass scratches so easily, why wouldn't the store put bubble wrap or some type of protection between the two? Or wrap them separately?
If your products are so easily damaged, what's De Serres policy? Buyer beware?
I'm miffed as heck at the way this guy spoke to me, was dismissive of me & could not be bothered that I walked out without any resolution.
Remember this ... he saw the other print I'd planned to mount & frame. I told him at the start of this interaction. Like I said, he couldn't be bothered & let more money walk out of the store.
How will we work together to resolve this?

Excellent, fast, friendly and knowledgeable service, exceptional product availability and selection, reasonable prices, and additional discounts - what more could you ask for? Went in to pick up some leather paint and finisher, and were helped to the right spot and right product within literally seconds. Perfect. Would highly recommend for your art supply needs.
