Arrived at store at 4:57pm on Tuesday December 27th, 2022 which was the day the largest snow blizzard settled in the Fort Erie area. I drove to this store to get part for my gas fireplace to work because I had no heat in my house from the winter storm for 5 days. I asked earlier by phone that the part be put on hold for me. When arriving at the store - the doors were locked with most of the lights off and about 3 employees standing at a counter inside stairing at the front door while i was knocking to try to get inside and get the part to heat my home. They just looked at me. Will not use this hardware store again.

We came here to hopefully get our kitchen sink fixed. My parents were so happy to be able to discuss the problem with Dave, who works there. He was very attentive and answered all their questions. He was very informative when explaining how we should go about fixing our sink. This store is located on the East side in Port Colborne Ontario.

Got to say thanks to the big guy in the paint department. Saved me a bunch by buying it here and it looks way better than what I've been buying at Canadian Tire. You've totally converted me. There's several other things that I find are better quality and better price than Canadian Tire. Home Hardware's becoming a go to. Thanks.

Horrible Service! Tried to return a $5 item and was told it wasn't purchased at this location and couldn't return it. The item had a home hardware price tag and after arguing with the clerk was told where the door was. Will never return.

Unfortunately, I have to write this review. I’m a local Port Colborne resident and spend a fair amount of money at the two local Home Hardware’s. I purchased small items for a bathroom renovation, a toilet flange and two caulking tubes (shown in photo) but it turned out we didn’t need to use them. I lost my receipt and the staff member told me there was nothing he could do to return my items - I suggested an in-store credit to offset the store’s risk. Staff said no. I said, is that the manager in the office behind the desk, the staff member said, “no, it’s the owner.”I knocked on the door and the owner came out to discuss with me. Very callously I was told that this was Home Hardware policy and that was it, nothing he could do. Now I’m a business person and know rules and polices can and are broken all the time by senior officials for various reasons. I asked the owner why he could not accommodate me and break policy, and I asked him if he was the owner and if this is a franchise.The owner proceeded to lie to me and tell me he isn’t the owner and it is not a franchise and that the policy cannot be broken and was condescending.I then went across town to a real man, Frank, who owns the other Home Hardware in Port Colborne. He proceeded to tell me that in fact the stores are independently owned and operated and that he owns the stores as a franchisee. He then proceeded to not only return my items (even though I purchased from the other store) but refused my offer for in store credit, and gave me cash back for my items, immediately.To the liar who thinks it’s appropriate to mislead clients and conduct bad business - you’re wrong. You just blew a lifetime of business, over $30 and a policy you can easily override given you own the store. As the photo below depicts.I will always use Franks’s store because Frank values people and relationships over policies and rules. I don’t like being lied to and treated, as if I’m a fool. I’m not. I hope this review helps Frank get more business at your expense because he deserves it because he is a good person.Hopefully, you learn something here about how to be a smarter business person.Good luck.
