I recently visited Al’s West Indian Food Mart in Pickering, and I was disappointed to find that they began closing the store 30 minutes before the advertised closing time. This early closing created a frustrating shopping experience, as they started placing barrels in the aisles, making it difficult to grab items. I don’t understand why they’re rushing to close earlier than the posted hours. This kind of practice not only disrupts the shopping experience but could also lead to customers seeking other places to shop. I hope they reconsider this approach, as it’s not customer-friendly and will likely harm their reputation in the long run.

Is the only island store in Pickering that you are guaranteed to find everything you want. Staffs are supper nice, play music in store especially a bit of a gospel on Sundays.

I have been shopping at this store from the previous owner and I continue with the new owner my entire family and I mean a lot shop there but I bought 2 breadfruit there and they were not good I took a picture of them keep my receipt and I went there and showed it to them they said I should have bring it back the same day I told them where I live it’s a hour drive each way but I still goes to my church and after church I will go there to buy what I want I use to live in the area but I moved they knew me however they decided not to give me back my money or even give 2 breadfruit I ask to speak to the manager they’re not there I left and I called twice and no management is there so I don’t go back there 👎🏾👎🏾 I was glad when I found DAM FOOD STORE IN AJAX 🇯🇲 I’m satisfied with them 🤙🏾🤙🏾😊😊.

Their hours online AND posted on the store say they close at 7. I pulled up at 6:55 to grab a box of patties. The store lights were off, the cashier on her way out with her bags telling me “we’re closed. There’s no one there to cash you out”.
Poor business practice. If you want to leave at 6:55 then change your store closing hours to reflect that.
Ridiculous.

BEWARE!!!First of all one of the cashier ladies ears were bleeding she was touching the food . Dented Ackee cans the store also closes when they want don’t waste your gas driving there they are not open until 7PM they close when they want!!! Unprofessional dirty and dented can goods !! This will follow up with a call to health department ?ZERO STARS ⭐️

They sell spoiled polurie. Made me sick for a couple days. Also watch the price they tend to over charge on the weighed fruits.

Store should close at 7PM, came at 6:30pm store closed. But the owner was letting in people they know. Unprofessional!
